Community Development Centre (CDC)

CDC Doti is a Provincial non-profit organization, NGO working for the social and economic empowerment of people under the vulnerable zone and community. It was established on 16/09/2049 B.S and has been serving since 30 years for the same cause for social empowerment, inclusive and quality access to education, Disaster Preparedness and Humanitarian Response. Over the period since its inception, CDC has had long experience working with government, international non-government agencies, community based organization in various sectors of social and economic development. In addition, CDC supports community capacity strengthening for rural development, community groups and people on advocacy development in various sectors. CDC believes in human potentials and strives to empower social well-being, community-led development, accountability to community, donors and stakeholders, government and non-government agencies. In this period CDC Doti has developed strong networking, professional relationship among various organizations, networks and structures in the district and province . CDC has hands-on experience on social development, capacity strengthening of local level government, community based organization in Nepal.

Background of Organization:

The Community Development Centre (CDC), established in B.S. 2049 by a group of dedicated development professionals and activists, is a well-recognized non-governmental organization with more than three decades of experience in community empowerment. With strong technical expertise, robust financial systems, and deep understanding of the local context, CDC has successfully led inclusive and multi-sectoral programs in Sudurpaschim Province. Its work spans across inclusive education, health, WASH, disaster risk reduction, youth engagement, child protection, and women’s empowerment. By addressing pressing challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, harmful social practices, governance gaps, low educational performance, and persistent barriers for marginalized groups, the organization has played a pivotal role in driving sustainable improvements in the lives of vulnerable communities.

CDC (Community Development Center) is implementing HATEMALO for Child wellbeing and Integrated Development Project in partnership with World Vision International Nepal (WVIN). The project is on implementation in Aadarsh RM, Sayal RM, DSMP municipality and Purbichauki RM of Doti District. Hence, CDC is seeking qualified, dynamic and motivated Nepali citizens on following position for smooth implementation of the project activity.

2Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) Officer- 1 Position (Female Only)
  1. Bachelor's in agriculture, economics, social work with JTA, or related field
  2. In-depth knowledge on Women’s economic empowerment approaches
  3. Knowledge and experience of implementing women’s economic empowerment or livelihood projects (with WEE outcomes), technical and vocational skill training, engagement with financial service providers (FSPs), and business plan development.
  4. Advocacy knowledge with local government for policy development and implementation. Strong Understanding of WEE, GEDSI, community-led activities and local advocacy Experience in working with diverse stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector and community-based organizations
  5. Strong training and facilitation skills

  1. Provide technical support during the annual planning of WEE intervention, approaches and action based on the scope of the project

  4. Based on the assessment, develop the WEE strategy and associated work plan, including mainstreamed/targeted activities and approach to ‘do no harm’.

  2. Experiences of project/s on environmental sustainability, climate action under livelihood, food security, agriculture sector
  3. Good understanding of green business models with knowledge of primary production and agriculture and market-led projects
  4. Understanding of Environmental issues with problem-solving skills to address complex environmental challenges.
  5. Experience in working with diverse stakeholders, including community members, government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector and community-based organizations
  6. Has strong training and facilitation skills
  7. Monthly budget forecast and planning, quarterly expense tracking and review of expenses.
  8. Good report writing skills for semi-annual and annual reports
  9. Sound skills in capacity assessment/training need assessment process and tools for staffs and target group and project staff mentoring and onsite support

  1. Lead the implementation of climate adaptation and mitigation, environmental protection, and restoration action and initiatives
  2. Develop plans and approaches to implement AP-relevant ESCA activities for households/communities and market actors and lead the implementation and monitoring of these actions/initiatives
  3. Working closely with Project Manager/Coordinator to develop inclusive and green business models that integrate environmental considerations into core business practices together with communities/HHs and market actors
  4. Provide ongoing support and mentorship to ensure the effective application of sustainability practices to communities/HHs
  5. Providing technical assistance to businesses/market actors on adopting green technologies and practices
  6. Network and liaise with Local and Government, likeminded agencies and Business Groups.
  7. Facilitate workshops and training sessions on environmental sustainability and climate action for the project team on how to mainstreaming ESCA into iMSD and other ESCA models
  8. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on project progress, communicating key findings to project team and stakeholders
  9. Document good practices and learning of the M4C project initiatives
