Save the Saptari, a non-profitable social development & humanitarian organization based in Saptari district is announcing vacancy for “Integrated WASH management support for Vulnerable Communities in Chinnamasta, Saptari District, Nepal” funded by KOICA, Habitat for Humanity International Nepal, Habitat for Humanity Koria. The project aims to reduce the fecal oral/water borne disease in Dalit communities of Chhinnamasta Rular Municipality, Saptari Nepal by strengthening the local government system, improving WASH infrastructure and raising awareness of the communities.in Chhinnamasta RM, Saptari.
Eligible candidates are requested to apply for the following positions:
1. Position: Project Coordinator-1
Working location: Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality, Saptari
Qualification: Minimum bachelor’s in public health/ Environment science (master’s degree preferred)
Overall work experience: Minimum 5 years in development field in similar position.
Specific work experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in WASH sector.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining the working relationship with the local government and partnership Management, Health and WASH departments. & other key stakeholders.
- Lead and manage the project team and mobilize them for effective implementation of the project interventions.
- Responsible to coordinate with Habitat Nepal team.
- Responsible for supporting the WASH committee for advocacy of WASH issues.
- Responsible for facilitating and supporting WASH team (Volunteer) to ensure the effective implementation of hygiene activities in field.
- Responsible to support entrepreneurs to ensure the delivery of Bio sand filter and support to conduct the training for using and maintain the quality uses of Bio sand filter.
- Lead to check the quality of water by using field kit, del aqua kit and ISO certified laboratory.
- Ensure timely information to the Habitat Nepal team about the success, issues, challenges support to produce a qualitative report (Activities, Monthly, Half yearly, Annual).
- Responsible to prepare design of IEC material and ensure implement in field.
- Ensure the planning and DIP with project budget and log frame. Tracking the budget and ensure effective burn Rate.
2. Position: Technical Coordinator - 1
Working location: Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality, Saptari
Qualification: Minimum BE in civil engineering
Overall work experience: Minimum 5 years in development field on similar position.
Specific work experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Water Supply System (Gravity and solar system).
Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining the working relationship with the GoN technical team.
- Lead and manage the technical team for effective implementation of the project interventions in field.
- Establish coordination with Habitat Nepal technical team.
- Supports User’s committee for construction management and documentation.
- Engage in Installation and construction of Handpump, Toilet, solar system water supply and maintaining the quality.
- Support entrepreneurs to build the Bio sand filter.
- Support checking the quality of water by using a field kit, del aqua kit and ISO certified laboratory.
- Ensure timely information to the technical team of Habitat Nepal team about the success, issues, challenges related to field activities, especially technical activities and support to produce a qualitative report.
- Prepare the design of infrastructure and prepare the BOQ, construction plan in coordination with partners and GoN technical.
- Conduct monitoring field visit to ensure timely and quality implementation of project as per approved work plan and budget.
- Support Project coordinator for project planning, DIP reporting.
3. Position: Technical Supervisor - 1
Working location: Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality, Saptari.
Qualification: Minimum Diploma in Civil Engineer.
Overall work experience: Minimum 5 Years experience in development field on similar position.
Specific work experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in WASH, Building Construction).
Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for construction of infrastructure in the field and maintaining the quality of work.
- Support and train the masons and contractors for effective implementation of the project interventions in field.
- Responsible for supporting WASH groups for Sanitation and hygiene promotion.
- Responsible for mobilizing the youth volunteer for hygiene awareness session in communities.
- Responsible for supporting entrepreneurs to build the Bio sand filter.
- Support to check the quality of water by using a field kit, del aqua kit and ISO certified laboratory.
- Ensure timely information to the technical team of Habitat Nepal team about the success, issues, challenges related to field activities, especially technical activities and support to produce a qualitative report.
- Responsible to prepare design of infrastructure and prepare the BOQ, construction plan in coordination with partners and GoN technical.
- Conduct monitoring field visit to ensure timely and quality implementation of project as per approved work plan and budget.
- Support Project coordinator for project planning, DIP reporting.
- Ensure timely report about success, issues, challenges related to field activities, and support to produce a qualitative report especially on sanitation & hygiene activities.
- Support to develop and prepare design of infrastructure and the BOQ.
- Conduct regular monitoring and field visit to ensure timely and quality implementation of project as per approved work plan and budget.
- Support Technical coordinator in planning and development of DIP.
4. Position: Admin and Finance Officer - 1
Working location: Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality, Saptari
Qualification: Minimum bachelor's degree in management, Finance, Accounting, or related field. (Master’s Degree preferred)
Overall work experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in administration and finance
Specific work experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Administrative & Financial Management in NGOs or INGOs.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining financial and administrative matters.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely data entry into accounting software.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with Habitat and organizational requirements.
- Assist user groups in maintaining ledgers and tracking materials received/utilized.
- Provide orientation and support on basic financial documentation to community groups.
- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations including logistics, procurement, and office management.
- Maintain inventory records and ensure fixed assets are properly recorded and tagged.
- Prepare and implement annual procurement plans.
- Ensure transparent procurement processes in line with organization and Habitat guidelines.
- Maintain procurement documentation including bids, quotations, and vendor evaluations.
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring complete documentation and responding to audit queries.
- Ensure proper budget tracking and variance analysis for project activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of bank accounts and petty cash.
- Ensure the implementation and adherence to admin and finance policies and guidelines.
- Ensure relevant internal and statutory compliance
- Timely reviewing of fund position to ensure sufficient cash balance for operations.
- Coordinate closely with the Habitat Nepal finance team.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports and supporting documents to Habitat Nepal on monthly basis.
- Maintain a systematic filing, recording, system and retention system of financial and administrative records as per project, organizational, and statutory requirements.
- Responsible for preparing the annual procurement plan, tracking, and ensuring the implementation as per admin and financial policy.
- Conduct regular field visits to verify documentation and compliance at the community/user group level.
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and expenditure forecasting.
- Ensure financial compliance with internal policies and donor regulations at the field level.
- Assist in the preparation and facilitation of internal and external audits.
5. Position: Social Mobilizer – 7 (Priorities will be given to local candidates)
Working location: Chhinnamasta Rural Municipality, Saptari
Qualification: Minimum Intermediate level (PCL Nursing, public health,10+2
Overall work experience: Minimum 3 years
Specific work experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Hygiene promotion
Roles and responsibilities:
- Responsible for operating the WASH center.
- Responsible to coordinate Health department and Ward office as well as community.
- Responsible for mobilizing the youth volunteer for hygiene awareness session in communities.
- Responsible for carrying out the water test and hygiene promotion.
- Coordination with communities and support in hygiene awareness sessions.
- Ensure water test on time.
- Support Technical coordinator for reporting by providing necessary information on time.
