Rural Economic Development Association (REDA) is a non-profit organization established in 1991 in Palpa District, working to empower marginalized communities through sustainable agro-livestock-based enterprises. In partnership with CRS Nepal REDA is implementing the SPICES project (Securing and Protecting Investments and Capacities for Environmental Sustainability) in Tansen Municipality Mathagadi Rural Municipality and Purbakhola Rural Municipality to promote climate-resilient, market-based agroforestry models.
REDA Palpa is seeking a young, energetic, motivated, qualified, and dedicated candidate to work in the SPICES Project for the following positions:
1. Position: Technical Officer/ Project Coordinator
Department/Location: Palpa
Reports To: Executive Director
Supervises: Social Mobilisers/Junior Technical Assistants (JTA/JT)
Required Expertise
- Demonstrated skills in planning and implementing agroforestry-based value chain programming, with a strong focus on capacity building and social mobilization.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure in a rural setting.
- Adaptable and flexible to the jobs task and job time.
- Ability and willingness to remain extended time in the field and support target community.
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
- Expertise and skills to coordinate and liaise with the stakeholders.
- Take initiatives to produce on a timely basis to produce key deliverables
- Strong skill on training and coaching
- Ability to make quick assessments of situations on the ground, problem-solve, and act appropriately.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Strong facilitation skills
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and local languages.
- Good in computer application in word, excel and power point
- Skill in making cost effective project alternatives.
- Skill in performing research, analysing findings, preparing and presenting analysis
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in agriculture animal science or social science (most working on high-value crop value chain development). A master's degree will be an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience working in agricultural development with NGOs or the government
- Proven experience in participatory approaches to development
Candidates with knowledge of training delivery, Monitoring and Evaluation, and extensive experience in community development and private sector engagement
2. Position: Admin and Finance Officer
Department/Location: Tansen
Reports To: Project Coordinator
Supervises: Social Mobilizer
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including vouchers, ledgers, and bank reconciliations.
- Ensure timely disbursement of payments, advances, and settlements in compliance with organizational policies.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and budgets.
- Monitor expenditure and maintain proper financial controls to avoid overspending or misallocation.
- Coordinate with external auditors and support audit processes as required.
- Administrative Support
- Oversee day-to-day administrative functions of the project office, including procurement, inventory, and asset management.
- Maintain and update personnel files, attendance records, leave tracking, and contract documentation.
- Ensure adherence to administrative policies and procedures in coordination with the central office.
- Project Coordination Support
- Assist the Project Coordinator in organizing meetings, field visits, workshops, and training sessions.
- Maintain project documentation, and filing systems, and ensure timely communication flow
- Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure all financial and administrative activities comply with donor and government regulations.
- Maintain organized documentation of all financial transactions, procurement records, and correspondence.
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with banks, vendors, local government offices, and service providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Represent the finance and admin unit in internal coordination meetings when required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Management with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Good documentation and administrative skills.
- Capable to use FAMAS Accounting Software for financial reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work closely and supportively within a team.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent in Nepali and good in English communication
3. Position: Social Mobilisers/ Junior Technical Assistants (JTA)
Department/Location: Tansen, Mathagadi, and Purbakhola
Reports To: Project Coordinator
Supervises: None
Key Working Relationships:
Internal: Project Coordinator, Admin, and Finance Officer, Fellow Junior Technical Assistant (JTA), Other REDA staff, and Organization Board Member.
External: CRS Project Manager, CRS Finance focal points and Government departments and officials
Required Expertise
- Demonstrated skills in planning and implementing agroforestry-based value chain programming, with a strong focus on capacity building.
- Ability to work calmly under pressure in a rapidly changing context.
- Adaptable and flexible to the job's task and job time.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly to the field, and support field teams.
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy,
- Expertise and skills to coordinate and liaise with the government.
- Ability to effectively delegate while ensuring key deliverables are produced on a timely basis
- Strong mentoring, training, and coaching to partner staff
- Ability to make quick assessments of situations on the ground, problem-solve, and act appropriately.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
Required Skills:
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word processing, and PowerPoint
- Strong facilitation skills
- Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English and local languages.
- Skill in making decisions regarding project priorities, costs, and alternatives.
- Skill in performing research, analysing findings, preparing and presenting analysis
Required Qualifications:
- JA/JTA degree in agriculture or animal science (mostly working on high-value crop value chain development).
- At least 3-5 years of experience working in agricultural development with NGOs or the government
- Proven experience in participatory approaches to development
- Candidates with knowledge of training delivery, Monitoring and Evaluation, and extensive experience in community development and private sector engagement will be preferred.
- This position is field-based in a project targeted at rural Municipality
