1. Job Title: Communication Officer

Center for Research and Sustainable Development Nepal (CREASION) is a not-for-profit organization that was established in 2005. Since it was founded, CREASION has been a leader in environmental protection in Nepal through recycling, research, emergency response, grassroots and circular economy related interventions. CREASION also houses innovative, impact-based projects as well as a learning center for youth. CREASION’s work is majorly centered around four thematic areas; Environment and Sustainability, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Youth and Volunteerism.

About the Project

Project CAP (Collaborative Approach for Preventing Plastic Leakages in Rivers) aims to divert plastic waste into product value chain from landfills and rivers by strengthening plastic waste collection mechanism and bolstering recycling efforts through the introduction of technological innovations. The project will develop a collaborative model to engage all the major stakeholders in establishing a strong plastic waste value chain. The project works in 6 municipalities along four major river basins of Nepal by aligning with the proven and effective PARLEY AIR theme. Project CAP is one of the funded projects of PLEASE Project (Plastic Free Rivers and Seas of South Asia) in Nepal which is being implemented by The South Asia Cooperative Environment Programme (SACEP), in partnership with the United Nations Office for Procurement Services (UNOPS), funded by the World Bank and Parley for the Oceans.

Position Overview: The Communication Officer will be responsible for creating and implementing communication plans that align with the goals and objectives of both the trading and programmatic divisions. This role requires a strategic communicator who can effectively convey the company's messages, enhance its brand image, and engage stakeholders across different sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communication Strategy Development
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop comprehensive communication strategies for the trading and programmatic divisions.
  • Ensure alignment of communication plans with organizational objectives.

Content Creation:

  • Develop compelling and relevant content for various channels, including press releases, social media, website, and marketing collateral.
  • Create content that effectively communicates the company's activities, achievements, and initiatives.

Media Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media outlets and journalists.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the company, handling media inquiries and coordinating interviews.

Internal Communication:

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Facilitate communication channels that foster collaboration across different divisions.

Event Management:

  • Plan and execute communication strategies for events related to both trading and programmatic activities.
  • Coordinate media coverage and ensure effective communication during events.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including clients, partners, and program beneficiaries.
  • Ensure consistent and positive communication with external parties.

Brand Management:

  • Uphold and enhance the company's brand image across all communication channels.
  • Develop and enforce brand guidelines for both trading and programmatic divisions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in corporate communications, preferably in a dual-role involving trading and programmatic activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in managing social media platforms and other communication tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Duration

The contract duration is One year estimated to start as early as possible.

2. Position: Program Intern

CREASION also houses innovative, impact-based projects as well as a learning center for youth. CREASION’s work is majorly centered around four thematic areas; Environment and Sustainability, Disaster Risk Reduction, and Youth and Volunteerism.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

MAJOR FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the General Secretary and Senior Program Associate, the Program Intern will be responsible for learning to develop and execute the environmental projects, document the plastic recovery record and documentation of project pictures and impacts.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assistance for multiple Projects
  • The Program Intern will learn the basics of the multiple Projects and its objectives and upcoming activities.
  • The Intern will learn to execute the calendar activities required for the project with the co-ordination form the Senior Team.

Concept Development

  • The Program Intern will learn to develop the concept for the activities of the mulitple projects in supervision of the immediate supervisor and the Program Management Team (PMT).

Website Management

  • The Program Intern, in close co-ordination with the Communications Officer and Senior Program Associate, will learn to maintain the functionality of the website and curate website content.

Documentation & Reporting

  • In close co-ordination with the Senior Program Associate and the Project Lead, the Program Intern will support the team in maintaining the collection, record, sales and consignment record on daily basis.
  • The program Intern will also support the team in creating Event Reports and Concept Notes for the Programs.

Merchandise Co-ordination and Planning

  • In close co-ordination with SMT and Program staffs, the Program Intern will learn to initiate and develop different communication materials as needed. (For Example: Brochures, Flyers, Newsletters, PPTs etc)

Blogs and Articles

  • The Program Intern will learn to aid the Communications team in creating blogs, as well as articles for the existing projects.

Program and Event Management Support

  • The Program Intern will assist the Program Implementing Team (PIT) during the event conduction of any program or events of the organization.
  • It can be logistical and administrative support.

Project Stock Record Maintenance

  • Various program of CREASION requires multiple merchandise (For example: medals and badges for waste smart schools, PPEs and Helmets for Occupational Safety Training, Banners and standee for event execution etc.)
  • The Program Intern will maintain a proper inventory record of each of the item in the authorization and supervision of the General Secretary and Operations and Finance Team.

Waste Smart School Activity Conduction and Record Maintenance

  • The Program Intern will learn to execute different activities in Waste Smart School (Bharatpur and Kathmandu) regarding waste management.
  • The Intern will also be responsible for updating the activity tracker of these schools and regular follow-ups regarding the activity conduction.

Any other task assigned by the Supervision and Management

3. Job Title: Graphic Designer

Purpose of the Role

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating visually stunning and effective design solutions that align with our brand identity and communication goals. The ideal candidate possesses a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects and demonstrates a keen eye for detail.

Design Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with the CREASION’s brand and goals.
  • Drive the evolution of design processes and methodologies, ensuring continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Stay well-informed of current trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices to inform and enhance the design strategy.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept to completion, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Allocate resources effectively and manage workloads to optimize team productivity.

Creative Direction:

  • Set the creative direction for design projects, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and design principles.
  • Oversee the development of design concepts, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Review and approve final designs, ensuring they meet high standards of visual appeal and usability.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and open communication within the communications team and across departments.
  • Effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Collaborate with external partners, agencies, vendors and freelancers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Designing, Computer science, Information Technology or a related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional work experience
  • Proficient in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, After effect, Premier Pro, InDesign
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects and styles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to balance creative thinking with a strategic, results-oriented approach.
