FHI 360 has been working in Nepal since 1993. Together with the Government of Nepal (GoN), civil society, and the private sector, FHI 360 works collaboratively in the areas of HIV, family planning (FP)/reproductive health (RH), health security and one health, nutrition, COVID-19 response, procurement, and supply chain management, local capacity strengthening, civil society and media strengthening, governance reform, and the environment and climate change. We request applications from qualified individuals for the following positions for anticipated Fleming Fund Country Grant for Nepal, Phase II funded by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC)’s Fleming Fund using UK aid. All the positions are subject to actual award and funding availability.
1. Senior Strategic Information (SI) Specialist
The SI Specialist will have overall leadership of Fleming Fund Country Grant Nepal (FFCGN) phase 2 strategic information (SI) activities including research, surveillance/ surveys and monitoring. The SI Specialist will provide oversight related to strengthening the capacity and systems for integrated antimicrobial resistance (AMR)/antimicrobial use (AMU)/antimicrobial consumption (AMC) surveillance in humans, animals, and food and environment sectors in One Health approach, and manage FFCGN phase 2 program data analysis, visualization and use and research and surveys. This position is subject to the funder’s approval.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in design, planning, implementation, and monitoring of research and surveys, data analysis, data visualization, dashboard and report preparation, and dissemination of AMR/AMU/AMC surveillance in humans, animals, food, and environment sectors.
- Provide technical assistance for designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and report preparation of active AMR surveillance in the animal health sector, AMU survey in the human and animal health sector, and AMC surveys.
- Lead and coordinate to develop framework to identify integrated AMR/AMU/AMC data analysis and sharing across human health, animal health, environment and food sectors.
- Provide technical assistance in the preparation and submission of AMR/AMU-related data and reports in accordance with national, regional and global standards and requirements including annual reports to Global Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System and World Animal Health Organization.
- Provide technical assistance to National Public Health Laboratory, Central Veterinary Laboratory and AMR/AMU/AMC surveillance sites to collect, refine, analyse, visualize, and use the AMR/AMU/AMC surveillance data.
- Review, synthesize, and summarize the findings of AMR/AMU/AMC surveillance and research findings and recommendations with impression and implication for national AMR/AMU/AMC program as well as FFCGN phase 2 and share with AMRMSC, NTWC, sectoral technical working groups and FFCGN staff on a quarterly and annual basis.
- Lead, coordinate, and support the design, development and implementation of research-, surveillance-, and monitoring-related trainings and workshops at the national and site levels.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the project team on research-, surveillance- and monitoring-related activities.
- Provide backstopping support and technical assistance to FFCGN phase 2 implementing partners for research and surveillance-related activities.
- Contribute to FHI 360 Nepal’s overall SI framework and approach as a member of the Nepal SI forum/team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director and/or Country Director.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in public health or other relevant subjects and four to five years of experience or a bachelor’s degree in public health or other relevant subject and five to seven years of experience in managing and conducting epidemiological and/or social science research and surveillance in public health.
- Experience in standard epidemiological and statistical methods/tools and with quantitative and qualitative research methods and surveillance.
- Knowledge and experience of AMR/AMU/AMC and disease surveillance and other relevant health programs.
- Proficient in statistical software packages (SAS/Stata/SPSS), WHONET and other bridging software.
- Experience in translating data sets into easily accessible and useful information that supports the achievement of program objectives (e.g., using maps, dashboards, and visualization tools).
- Experience in working effectively across various teams within the project and organization and building and sustaining positive working relationships with non-government organizations, private sectors, government and other stakeholders.
- Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing and working in virtual work environment, and flexible and open for managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, team building and management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written English and Nepali including documentation skills.
2. Accounts Officer
The Finance Officer will be responsible for financial recording, processing payments and documentation ensuring compliance with FHI 360 policies and donor/government regulations using sound financial management principles. S/he will operate various financial system applications such as Global Finance and Administration System (GFAS), Digital Process Automation (DPA), etc. for recording financial transaction
Key Responsibilities
- Review vouchers/invoices submitted to FHI 360 Nepal to verify items claimed are in accordance with an agreement and delivered or performed.
- Payment process in DPA and GFAS.
- Prepare and review wire payment details of payee in online banking system Straight to Bank (S2B).
- Develop monthly and quarterly financial reports for submission to FHI 360 Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) & Headquarters (HQ).
- Ensure proper functioning of FHI 360 GFAS accounting system and coordinates with HQ & APRO as required for ongoing updates.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statement and balance sheet reconciliation for the monthly closing of GFAS and upload in Share Point.
- Ensure timely submission of GFAS report to HQ with all supporting documents.
- Prepare weekly cash flow request and update monthly progress indicator.
- Ensure timely payments and reimbursements made for consultants.
- Ensure timely reimbursement for FHI 360 implementing partners agencies in accordance with FHI 360 policies and procedures.
- Review travel claims for correction and verification that the claim conforms with travel authorizations and regulations regarding route, per diem, accommodation, and use of proper transportation, determining if a travel advance was issued and computing the amount due to the traveler or FHI 360 Nepal.
- Assist in carrying out internal and external auditing functions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management with three years of work experience in a relevant field. Master’s degree preferable with relevant experience.
- Excellent knowledge and experience with accounting and financial system.
- Experience in computerized accounting system.
- Experience in working effectively across various teams within the project and organization, and building and sustaining positive working relationships with NGOs, private sectors government and other stakeholders.
- Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing, and working in virtual work environment, and flexible and open for managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed.

3. Program Associate
The Program Associate is responsible to support the program staff in all administrative and logistics matters of Fleming Fund Country Grant for Nepal (FFCGN) as well as FHI 360 Nepal. S/he will work jointly with the program and administrative staff for planning and organization of the events/ meetings, workshop/trainings, logistics and travel arrangement of project staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and logistic support to the project for organizing internal and external events, meetings, workshops and trainings.
- Prepare Procurement Requisitions (PR) and Purchase Orders (PO) to obtain necessary signatures and approvals ensuring adherence to FHI 360 Nepal procurement policy.
- Process Expense Authorization (EA) of project staff and visitors. Arrange hotel reservation, airline ticketing, vehicle rental and assist in travel as per FHI 360 travel policy.
- Manage project inventory including preparation of inventory report as per donor requirement.
- Liaise with external organizations to arrange meetings, workshops and other events as appropriate.
- Liaise with administrative staff within FHI 360 for any project specific plans and activities.
- Support Human resource department on project specific recruitment process of local staff an consultancy management
- Provide timely support for management of office building operations (e.g., electricity, drinking water, communications, maintenance and repair of office equipment, furniture, etc.).
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or social sciences or any relevant field with one year of relevant work experience or Intermediate degree with three to five years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in planning, coordination, communication, and collaboration with multiple teams, scheduling, and executing office and program-related activities and events.
- Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing and working in virtual work environment, and flexible and open for managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed.

4. Communication and Documentation Specialist
Communication and Documentation Specialist is responsible to lead and manage all communication and visibility requirements as well as documentation efforts of Fleming Fund Country Grant for Nepal (FFCGN). S/he will also be responsible for leading and coordinating for preparation of knowledge products including reports, briefs, good practice and success stories for replication, sharing and scaling up by other stakeholders in Nepal.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the implementing partner and project staff through development of tools, systems and processes on communication and documentation.
- Liaise with technical leads and implementing partner to set up smooth and regular communication processes for effective documentation and communication of project implementation insights and knowledge.
- Maintain and update repository of communication materials (photos, videos, success stories) and knowledge products (reports, briefs, process documentation, updates).
- Build capacity of implementing partner to effectively generate, capture and share insights from project implementation.
- Provide ongoing technical support to project staff to produce high-quality learning products that will support the project’s learning agenda.
- Ensure that the project’s progress, achievements, and results are communicated regularly and accurately to relevant national and global stakeholders.
- Lead the development process of strategic long-term communication materials such as mapping of stakeholder or community members to generate learning and/or success stories.
- Lead development of briefs, success stories, social media posts, blogs, web content, presentations, reports and other communication and written deliverables.
- Support the development and review of donor updates/reports (quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc).
- Liaise with technical team, implementing partner, global team to effectively carry out the above tasks.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in communication, journalism, or social sciences with three to four years of experience or bachelor’s degree with four to six years of experience in the above-mentioned field.
- Experience in developing and disseminating communication materials, knowledge products and programmatic documentation and knowledge management.
- Experience in working effectively across various teams within the project and organization, and building and sustaining positive working relationships with NGOs, private sectors, government, and other stakeholders.
- Proactive in managing multiple tasks, managing, and working in virtual work environment, and flexible and open for managing time for working with different teams in different time zones as needed.
