Vacancy Announcement
Details / requirements:
WE ARE NOT HIRING.
WE ARE RECRUITING REBELS.
Dear Future Disruptor,
If you clicked on this thinking, it's just another "exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team," close to this tab right now.
We are tired of LinkedIn buzzwords. We are exhausted by people who "are passionate about the environment" but can't name three rivers choking on plastic in Nepal right now.
This is not a job. This is a pact.
THE BRUTAL TRUTH ABOUT NEPAL
11,000+ tons of plastic we've recycled. Sounds impressive?
It's a drop. A molecule. A pathetic whisper against the roar of the crisis.
While you are reading this, somewhere in Nepal:
- A river is becoming a plastic highway
- Cities are filled with unmanaged plastic waste
- A Majhi community member is watching their fishing livelihood die
- Another young person is leaving Nepal because they don't believe change is possible here
We are done being polite about this.
WHO WE ARE (WITHOUT THE CORPORATE BS)
Over the past two decades, CREASION has evolved from a volunteer-driven organization into a leading force in Nepal’s shift to a circular economy, especially around plastic waste. Since around 2015, it has aligned its mission around sustainable, research-driven recycling and policy innovation. CREASION now operates a national, accountable plastic supply chain: it collects around 500 tons of plastic per month, partners with major recyclers, and supports 3,500 + informal waste workers via fair-pay mechanisms and formal integration. It also collaborates with informal scrap collectors and aggregators across Nepal.
Its partnerships span governments (Ministry of Forests & Environment, Department of Environment), civil society, and international actors: SACEP, World Bank, EU, The Coca-Cola Foundation, GRID-Arendal, Norwegian Retailers’ Fund, University of Leeds, AEPW, WIEGO, and UNDP. Guided by its values of Compassion, Entrepreneurship, and Playfulness, CREASION’s core objective is to reduce plastic consumption and waste through policy advocacy, innovation, and scaling recycling networks.
But here is the thing: We are not delusional. We know we are fighting an uphill battle against habits, systems, and apathy.
That is why we need YOU.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR (AND WHO SHOULD STAY AWAY)
YOU MIGHT BE OUR PERSON IF:
✓You have spent at least 1+ year actually DOING something not just talking about it
✓ You can write proposals that make donors say "take my money" (proposal writing is your weapon)
✓ You can mobilize youth without making them yawn (youth campaign coordination is your superpower)
✓ You've implemented projects and seen them through mess, chaos, pivots, and all (project implementation is your battlefield)
✓ You have integrity that can't be bought, bent, or bargained with
✓ You're committed to staying in Nepal even when everyone says the "real opportunities" are abroad
✓ You understand that circular economy isn't a buzzword it's literally life or death for our rivers, our communities, our future
STAY AWAY IF:
✗ You want a 9-to-5 with zero emotional investment
✗ You think "the government should handle it"
✗ You're just padding your resume before leaving for any foreign country
✗ You think youth engagement means posting on Instagram
✗ You can't handle working with informal waste workers, Majhi communities, and people society ignores
✗ You need everything to be comfortable and convenient
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
Forget the corporate job description. Here is the reality:
- Write proposals that unlock funding for projects that matter
- Design and lead youth campaigns that actually create behavior change (not just selfies)
- Implement projects in municipalities where plastic is suffocating rivers
- Coordinate with waste workers, SMEs, local governments, and communities who need real solutions
- Track, measure, report, pivot when things don't work (because they won't always)
- Face resistance, skepticism, and bureaucracy and push through anyway
- Be part of team trying to make "Net-Zero Carbon Nepal" not just a slogan
WHAT WE OFFER
Not This:
- "Competitive salary" (we pay fairly, but you won't get rich)
- Corner office with a view
- Easy wins and constant validation
But This:
- Work that matters more than your ego
- A team of 20-year veterans who've been fighting this fight before it was trendy
- Real impact: Every proposal you write could divert tons of plastic from rivers
- Access to vulnerable communities, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and change-makers
- The chance to say you stayed in Nepal and fought for it
THE UNCOMFORTABLE QUESTION
Why are you still here?
Not on this page. In Nepal.
Most talented young people leave. They are not wrong; there are easier paths, better pay, more "opportunities" elsewhere.
But someone has to stay. Someone has to believe that Nepal's rivers can run clean again. That circular economy can be more than theory. That youth energy can be harnessed before it's exported.
If that someone might be you, we need to talk.
HOW TO APPLY (NO BORING CVs PLEASE)
Send us an email at jobs@creasion.org with:
1. Your Story (Not Your CV)
Tell us in 300-500 words: What environmental crisis keeps you up at night? What have you DONE about it? Why Nepal? Why now? Why you?
2. Proof of Work
- Share ONE proposal you have written (or summary of a successful one)
- Share ONE campaign you coordinated and its actual outcomes
- Share ONE project you implemented and what went wrong (yes, what went WRONG, we want honesty)
3. Your Commitment
- One sentence: "I'm staying in Nepal because ___________"
Subject Line: NOT HIRING - RECRUITING REBELS
Deadline: December 15, 2025
FINAL WARNING
This position will frustrate you. You will write proposals that get rejected. You will organize events where fewer people show up than you hoped. You will work with communities who have been promised to change before and are skeptical of you.
But if you are still reading, if something in your chest tightened with recognition, if you are thinking "finally, someone who gets it"... We are waiting.
