Digitalization of IEC materials for Mobile/Web Apps

1.   Background

Strengthening Access to Holistic, Gender Responsive, and Accountable Justice in Nepal (SAHAJ) aims to reduce vulnerability towards different forms of Gender Based Violence (GBV) with increased breaking culture of silence around GBV and increased access to security and justice services. Through a consortium led by VSO with co-lead International Alert (IA); partners forum for Women, Law and Development (FWLD), Emory University; SAMAGRA; and MAHURI Home, SAHAJ started implementing programs in Provinces 2 and 5. 

SAHAJ is working with different school and engaged youth and child clubs and orientation them on GBV and harmful social norms. These interventions were aimed to increase their access to appropriate services and mobilize them to disseminate information to wider communities. These club members are also contributing to spread awareness on covid-19 and GBV through IEC materials and one to one meeting. SAHAJ also developed and broadcasted Radio Rupantaran session and discussed on harmful social norms surrounding GBV. The project is also planning to develop Rupantaran mobile apps. This apps will be used by the community volunteers to continue the session in small groups with required safety measures. 

VSO Nepal is looking a consultant to develop IEC materials for school children to understand the GBV and harmful social issues and practicesusing Ruparatan training manual. 

2.   Objective:

The main objectives of this consultancy work should serve are as follows:

Digitalized Rupantaran materials for mobile Apps  to  cover the concepts of on child participation & child safety, gender-based violence and legal provision,  safe environment for girls and boys, as well as on positive masculinity, social norms, behaviors and attitudes change and include content types such as a quiz, match the pair, question & answer and some visual clips

3  work on for Apps to put the digitalized Rupantaran materials in Mobile Apps.

4.      Competence and skill requirements 

• Experience of working in the development of mobile applications
• Capacity to understand the need and objective of the apps
• Experience coaching and training others in managing and administering app system.
• Should have knowledge in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator. 
• Sounds knowledge in IT operation & Web browsing 
• Good knowledge on Nepali UNICODE typing. 

The total duration for the consultancy service is 25 days spreading over 1 month and possibility for extension. 

5.   Consultancy fee for this task: 

Payments of the proposed fees to the consultant or consultancy service will be based upon delivery of the services and products specified. Tax will be deducted at source/remuneration paid by VSO. In performing the service, the Consultant will act as an independent consultant and will not be deemed to be an employee or agent of VSON. The constant or consultancy service will be bound by VSO’s safeguarding policy.  

The maximum ceiling for this call is NPR 200,000. 

6.   Schedule of payment 

The payment will be made After completion of test and final apps submission directly to the bank account of the consultant or consultancy service. 

7.   Application Procedure

Consultancy firms are required to submit the following: 

• Company profile along with Expression of interest, outlining how the agency meets the selection criteria and their understanding of the TOR.
• Technical proposal with proposed methodology/Approach and detailed Timeline with Deliverables.
• Financial proposal with detailed Cost Break-down.
• Sample or Links to good examples of work already completed Track record in developing/conducting media campaigns for development sector.
• Copy of PAN/VAT registration certificate(Required Business PAN registration certificate for individual consultant).
• Copy of company registration certificate.
• Latest Tax Clearance Certificate FY 076/77 or Time extension verified letter (MyadThap).
