1. Background

People Promote Center (PPC), Dhanusha is a nonprofit, non-governmental, and non-political humanitarian and development organization based in Madhesh Province. It is registered in Dhanusha and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, Nepal. The organization works across several core thematic areas, including Education, WASH, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Health, Governance and Advocacy, and Gender Equality. Its primary target groups include children, girls, adolescents, women, youth, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized communities. PPC collaborates with development partners (I/NGOs), the private sector, and local governments. 

People Promote Center (PPC), in partnership with UNICEF Nepal, is implementing the Community Engagement and Social Mobilization for Modeling Social & Behavior Change and Climate Action Project in Durgabhagwati Rural Municipality of Rautahat district. Climate change poses increasing risks to multiple sectors, including health, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and child protection. To enhance climate resilience and promote evidence-based planning, it is essential to revise and update sectoral impact scenarios using the latest climate change projections. This consultancy aims to strengthen the integration of scientific climate information into local governments planning and decision making processes. The updated impact scenarios will serve as a critical input for developing the Child Centered Climate Change Calibrated Risk Management Strategy, ensuring that sectoral vulnerabilities and risks are systematically addressed through inclusive, data driven, and child-sensitive approaches.

2. Objective of the Consultancy: 

To revise and update impact scenarios across key sectors Health, Nutrition, WASH, Education, Agriculture, and Child & Social ProtectionofDurgabhagwati Rural Municipality, based on the latest climate change projections using innovative and scientific tools and methodologies.
