Organization Overview 

The Association of Intellectual Disabilities-Nepal (AID-Nepal) is a non-governmental organization established and led by persons with intellectual disabilities (IDs) in Nepal. It serves as the representative body for persons with intellectual disabilities, is registered with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, and works to promote their rights, dignity, and access to services. 

The head office is located at: 

Devi Marg, Sano Gauchar, Kathmandu, Ward No. 31, Nepal.

Mission 

The primary objective of AID-Nepal is to protect and promote the rights of persons with intellectual disabilities, ensure their meaningful inclusion in families, communities, and society, and empower them to become effective self-advocates.

Vacancy Announcement 

AID-Nepal invites applications from interested and qualified Nepali citizens for the following position:

Position: Project Officer 

Number of Positions: 1 (One) – Full Time 

Duty Station: AID-Nepal Office, Devi Marg, Sano Gaucharan, Kathmandu 

Contract Duration: Until the end of December 2026

Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement project activities in accordance with the approved project plan. 
  • Facilitate trainings, consultations, and workshops on disability rights, inclusion, and capacity building. 
  • Prepare periodic project reports, case studies, and documentation of best practices. 
  • Liaise and coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including local and national authorities. 
  • Support effective monitoring, data collection, and communication activities within the project.

Required Qualifications 

a) Educational Qualification 

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

b) Work Experience 

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in project coordination or implementation, preferably in the disability sector or rights-based development programs.

c) Other Essential Skills and Competencies 

  • Strong understanding of intellectual disabilities and disability rights. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills. 
  • Proficiency in MS Office, email, and basic digital tools. 
  • Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English.
