Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e. V. is one of the largest non-governmental organisations in Germany operating in the humanitarian assistance and development fields. It was established in 1962, as the German section of the “Freedom from Hunger Campaign”, one of the world’s first initiatives aimed at the eradication of hunger. Welthungerhilfe’s work is still dedicated to the following vision: All people have a right to a self-determined life in dignity and justice, free from hunger and poverty.
Welthungerhilfe (WHH) has been operational in Nepal since 2012, and it is currently managing different projects in sixteen districts under eight thematic areas (sectors): Humanitarian Actions, Agriculture, Climate Reliance and Natural Resource Management, Nutrition & Health, WASH, Economic Development, Civil Society Empowerment, ICT4D and others. WHH works partnership with civil society in Nepal to empower socially marginalized and economically poor citizens, to strengthen their resilience and to ensure their right to adequate food and nutrition through a systems thinking approach.
Welthungerhilfe, in collaboration with regional and national partners and with support from BMZ, is implementing the “Nutrition Smart CommUNITY” (NSC) project across India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, in partnership with local organizations.
The project aims to strengthen adaptive, inclusive, and climate-resilient food systems by linking community-level actions with governance structures, market systems, and policy frameworks. Within this framework, the NSC platform functions as prominent knowledge management and communication hub, facilitating:
Systematic documentation of evidence, lessons learned, and best practices
Cross-country learning, knowledge exchange, and collaboration
Engagement with stakeholders across food systems, nutrition, and climate resilience sectors
In order to ensure the effective functioning, continuity, and sustainability of the platform throughout the project period (2026–2029), Welthungerhilfe Nepal seeks to engage a qualified professional agency to manage, maintain, and further develop the high-quality Nutrition Smart CommUNITY (NSC) website and associated digital knowledge systems.
Objective
End-to-end management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the NSC website (Home - Nutrition Smart Community) as a dynamic, accessible, and knowledge-driven platform that:
- Supports systemic food systems transformation
- Facilitates regional knowledge exchange
- Enhances visibility of project outcomes and learnings
