We are seeking to recruit a passionate and skilled Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (RMEL) Officer to join our team in Nepal. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Research, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer (RMELO) plays a key role in implementing Adara’s RMEL strategic plan in Nepal. Working closely with the RMEL Manager, the global RMEL team, and the broader Nepal team, the RMELO strengthens evidence-based decision-making across Adara’s programmes in health, education, community resilience, child protection, and youth development.
The role involves qualitative and quantitative data collection, regular field visits, and the maintenance of databases to ensure accuracy and integrity. The RMELO also supports the development of RMEL tools, contributes to analysis and reporting, prepares case studies and knowledge products, and facilitates feedback loops with teams and stakeholders. In addition, the role supports training and capacity building for programme staff, coordinates community consultations, and upholds Adara’s child protection and data protection policies.
ABOUT YOU
- Must be a Nepali citizen and live in Nepal.
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, public health, education, statistics, social work, or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in RMEL, public health, or community development in Nepal.
- Skilled in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Strong communication skills in Nepali and English.
- Experience developing evaluation frameworks and tools (theory of change, program logic).
- Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with data tools (SPSS, REDCap, NVivo, R, PowerBI, Excel).
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage databases.
- Respect for human rights, with willingness to work with children, women, and men from diverse groups in Nepal.
- Willingness to travel to remote communities for fieldwork. Willingness to work and travel in the Humla district and endure the remoteness for lengthy periods of time
- Excellent people management skills
- Excellent communication and writing skills in Nepali and English
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate on all levels within internal and external groups
