Under USDA Food for Progress – Aquaculture Development in Nepal Project
1. Background
MADE Nepal in partnership with Lutheran World Relief is implementing the “Aquaculture Development in Nepal Project” funded by the United States Department of Agriculture under the Food for Progress Program for the period 2025–2029.
The project aims to increase Nepal’s domestic aquaculture production, productivity, trade, and competitiveness through sustainable and high-quality aquaculture practices across the value chain. The project focuses on improving sanitary and phytosanitary standards (SPS), strengthening aquaculture profitability, promoting financial services, and enhancing safe food consumption practices.
As part of the project implementation, MADE-Nepal in financial support of LWR intends to procure aquaculture equipment, hatchery inputs, and fish processing equipment, water quality monitoring tools, aeration systems, and related materials from qualified suppliers/vendors across Nepal.
Therefore, MADE-Nepal hereby invites sealed quotations from eligible registered suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, and firms for the supply and delivery of the following items.
2. Objective of the Procurement
The procurement aims to:
- Procure quality aquaculture equipment and inputs for project implementation.
- Support fish processing, preservation, and hygienic handling practices
- Strengthen aeration, hatchery, and water quality management systems
- Enhance aquaculture productivity and demonstration activities
- Promote sustainable and safe aquaculture practices in targeted project areas
3. Scope of Assignment
Suppliers may apply for one or multiple categories. The scope of procurement includes supply and delivery of the following aquaculture equipment, fish processing materials, hatchery inputs, aeration systems, and water quality monitoring tools:
- Fish processing stainless steel table (2×4)
- Small stainless steel table
- Air conditioner – 1 Ton
- Vacuum packing machine
- Filter water purifier – 1 Unit
- Cutting machine
- Mini-freeze (180–190 Liter)
- Food grade tray
- Washing gun
- Boot, head cover, gloves, and apron
- Digital weighing machine – 50 Kg
- US-manufactured Artemia
- 1.5 HP Ring Blower (Diffuse Aerator)
- Electric Dryer Machine (20 SS Rotary Trays, 220V, 2000W, 24 Hours’ Time Setting, Max. 90°C, Tray Size 38 cm, Dryer Size: 440mm × 625mm × 950mm, Capacity: 20–25 Kg)
- Vacuum sealer (Vacuum package)
- Tarpaulin 6 Dia, 780 GSM
- Diaphragm Air Pumps – 200 LPM
- Ring Blower – 1.5 HP
- Air Oxy Tube Setup – 16 Set
- Water Testing Master Kit / DO Digital
- API Water Quality Test Kits (Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, pH)
- Digital Display Board
- Secchi Disk for Pond Water Transparency Monitoring
4. Required Documents
- Quotation with detailed specification and unit cost
- Company/Firm registration certificate
- VAT registration certificate
- Latest tax clearance certificate
- Product specification/catalogue/brochure (if available)
- Warranty and after-sales service details (where applicable)
5. Ineligibility Criteria
Suppliers/firms shall be disqualified if they:
- Are blacklisted by the Government of Nepal or any donor agency
- Have pending legal disputes related to fraud or corruption
- Fail to submit mandatory legal documents
- Provide false or misleading information
- Have conflict of interest in the procurement process
