REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: CONSULTANCY SERVICE: AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION AND TRANSLATION SERVICE

World Vision’s Global Marketing and Campaign (GMC) team visited WVI Nepal’s programme areas to collect video content for its global campaigns 1000 Girls Campaign and ENOUGH Campaign from Sarlahi and Udayapur Area Programmes (AP) in Eastern Field Office of WVI Nepal. Various video interviews in Maithili and Nepali language were collected from children, youth and adults in the communities.  On that note, WVI Nepal is looking to hire a transcriber who can transcribe audio files in Maithili and Nepali languages and document them in English language in WVI Nepal prescribed format complete with timecodes matching the audio files. In this regard, World Vision International Nepal (WVI Nepal), Kusunti, Lalitpur - 13, invites interested consulting firms and individuals to submit proposals for a consulting assignment.

1. Consultancy Service: AUDIO TRANSCRIPTION AND TRANSLATION SERVICE

The overall objective of the assignment is to transcribe audio files in Maithili and Nepali languages into a document in English language. 

The detailed score of work is:

• Go through all audio files and transcribe the audio into English language. The transcription should be word by word so that it matches the audio file and does not alter the timing of the audio file.
• Submit all transcription in stipulated time.

Expected Qualifications:

• The essential criteria for the consulting agency to qualify for the assignment are:
• Prior experiences of transcribing video/audio files with appropriate timecodes.
• Demonstrated experience of translating Maithili and Nepali to English language.

Considerations:

Safeguarding of our programme participants is key in our approach of work. The audio files received from WVI Nepal is to be handled with utmost confidentiality and should not be used in any other purpose besides this assignment.

Based on the details outlined above, from eligible agencies/individuals/firms are requested to submit a technical proposal best illustrating experience and expertise in transcribing and subtitling Maithili to English language, sample of prior work of aligning nature, detailed timeline and team composition backed by cover letter, sample reports & resume aligning with requirements outlined in the Terms of Reference [ToR].

Along with technical proposal, interested parties are also requested to submit a financial proposal to enable the delivery of the required objectives.
