KARNALI WATER CHALLENGE: Promoting Water Security and Water-use Efficiency Solutions

The USAID Karnali Water Activity is accepting applications from eligible Nepali civil society organizations, NGOs, academic institutions, other non-profit enterprises, and private companies willing to forego profit who are interested and qualified to develop proven, innovative, and scalable water security and water-use efficiency solutions at both the household, farm, and watershed and/or sub-watershed levels. The Karnali Water Challenge will award up to a maximum of three grants of NPR 2,186,000 each to eligible organizations and implement the winning concepts over the next 12 months in the geographic focus areas of the USAID Karnali Water Activity (29 municipalities in the Rara Khatyad, Tila, Middle Karnali and Lower Karnali watersheds).

The Karnali Water Challenge is designed to: 1) identify innovative solutions and technologies for water security and water-use efficiency for both domestic and productive purposes; 2) explore promising practices and ideas that can demonstrate results at scale, and 3) promote learning between users, service providers, innovators, and other stakeholders working on water security and water efficiency.

Applicants must submit an electronic concept note and profile to KarnaliWater_Submissions@dai.com of the USAID Karnali Water Activity before 5.30 pm local time on April 21, 2023.
