Position: Regional Finance Coordinator, Danish Red Cross Location : New Delhi, South Asia Regional Delegation Last Date to apply: 31 Aug 2007 Brief on position: The Regional Finance Coordinator position in Danish Red Cross forms part of the Danish Red Cross South Asia team, and is in conjunction with the other members of the regional team in both Copenhagen and the field responsible for the financial management of DRC activities in the countries in the region. Essential responsibilities of the Regional Finance Coordinator, Danish Red Cross: Finance Administration •Overall responsibility for management of regional office budget •To maintain overview of regional program, budgets and funding needs •To ensure high standard of financial reporting in both country and regional offices •To ensure that Regional Office (RO) and Country Delegate’s (CD) administrative procedures and policies are in line with Danish Red Cross’ policies and procedures •In conjunction with HQ Financial Administrators assist Delegates on financial issues •Provide input to preparation / updates of budgets •Maintain overview – and forward quarterly cash requests – for funds to the programs in the region •Ensure adequate and timely filing of relevant documentation •Control and monitoring of local program income, expenses and fund balances •Prepare and / or provide input to various financial overviews to HQ or Head of Region (HoR) •Advice on possible locally donor funding in the region Financial Issues •Assist in development of standard accounting tools and systems, as well as budget templates accommodating the need of details required by donors and good accounting practice •Ensure yearly financial and performance audits as required by donors for programs in the region, incl. tender process for local auditors, instruct these and ensure that guidelines are followed General Support •Ensure implementation in RO / support to CD’s implementation of new and existing financial administration procedures •Apply Programme Management System (PMS) in daily work •Ensure that donor guidelines are strictly adhered to in program implementation in the region •Contribute to efficient communication and coordination amongst HQ, RO, CDs and partners •In conjunction with HQ Financial Administrators assist delegates on financial issues •Responsible for the preparation of Financial Reports to donors, incl. balancing of accounts, handover notes etc. •Capacity Development of National Society Partners financial administration, including administrative systems and IT development and also acting as counterpart for the Financial Officers •Responsible for procurement, general administration and IT in the RO and support the programs in procurement Qualifications Professional Qualifications oRelevant degree in Financial Management or similar oPrevious experience with development programmes oTechnical knowledge and experience in developing, monitoring and supervision of activity plans, budgets and financial management oRelevant couching experience oExcellent written and spoken English skills oExcellent computer skills oExcellent organisational skills oKnowledge Navision accounting software and advantage Personal Qualifications oFlexibility and motivation oInterpersonal skills oCultural awareness oAnalytical skills oCoaching skills oCommunication Skills oCreativeness and willing to present new thinking oTeam working skills and communication skills oNetworking and facilitating skills Salary: Negotiable How to apply: Please email your application and a detailed CV in MS word attachment format only with the job position reference of the above mentioned position to Protima.singh@ifrc.org with copy to lek@drk.dk latest by 31 August 2007.
