VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Voice of Children (VOC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation established in November 2000. VOC is one of the dedicated Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Nepal for promotion of child rights (CR) and child protection (CP) and working and advocating for street and sexually abused children of Nepal. VOC aims to prevent to reduce the number of street children by working with vulnerable families living in urban areas; slums and low-rent areas to empower them and spread awareness as many children come to the street from such families. As VOC believes that family is most important for children. It emphasizes on social reintegration of the children living/working in the street by improving their life skills & capacity for sustainability. It also focusses to protect children from any form of sexual abuse by raising awareness on child sexual abuse and offering legal, social and psychological support to sexually abused children & their families.

Position: Project officer -3 

Start Job: By January 2023

Salary: As per organisation policy 

Post Type: Full Time 

Project Location: Mahalaxmi Municipality – Lalitpur, Ithari Sub Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City – Sunsari and Belaka Municipality, Udayapur

Duration: 10 months starting from January to October 2023 (with possible extension depending on the performance and resource availability)

Contract Type: 2 months probationary period

Main Responsibilities:

• Management of training, workshop and orientation on Early Childhood Development (ECD) Education to concerned stakeholders.
• Monitor the implemented activities of ECD at schools.
• Strengthen the capacity of ECD Teachers, School Management Committees and Parent-Teacher Association in coordination with Education unit of Municipalities; 
• Coordinate with service providers for the case management of children; 
• Support to upgrade the ECD Centers in schools; 
• Prepare plan, project database, reports and case studies;

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in education/sociology/development studies;  
• 3 years of work experience in education especially on ECD and child protection;
• Facilitation skill and ability to deal with the children/family and other stakeholders;
• Good computer skills having Nepali typing;
• Good knowledge of local and national law and policies related to education and child protection;
• Great ability to work in teams & flexibility to work in odd timing;
