Environment and Public Health Organisation (ENPHO) is a service-oriented national NGO, established in 1990 that envisages contributing in sustainable community development by combining research and actions through the integrated programs in the environment and public health areas. ENPHO seeks to recruit the following four positions for Urban Risk Management Program based in Kathmandu, Nepal. Job title: PROJECT COORDINATOR (1 position) Key tasks and responsibilities: •Promote earthquake preparedness and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) facilities and ensure effective coordination of WASH and CBDRR (Community based disaster risk reduction) activities. •Conduct baseline studies and VCA to identify local earthquake preparedness status, vulnerable wards/ households and WASH capacity in terms of major earthquake in Kathmandu valley. •Implement project activities in close coordination with donor organizations and local government. •Plan and provide technical support to monitor activities/ outputs/ impact and adapt the program as per need to ensure smooth implementation of project activities with community mobilization. •Produce monthly, quarterly and annual report including case studies/ best practices •Conduct regular field visit and produce field visit report •Manage project team in line with organizational policy Required Qualification and experience: •Masters degree in any discipline or Bachelors in Civil engineering with at least 2 years of experience or Bachelor degree in any discipline with at least 4 years of relevant experience •Knowledge on public health engineering or Urban WASH/DRM and in one or more other relevant areas such as: Community development, CB-DRR education, Community based water supply. •At least two years of practical experience in NGO/INGO related to community development or CBDRM in different contexts. Involvement in emergency relief programme is an asset. •Capacity to provide formal and informal training to stakeholders and community. •Good team player with good communication skills in written and spoken English and local languages. •Good skill on computer (Microsoft package) and understanding of GESI approach. ************************************************************************************************************************************************* Job title: PROJECT OFFICER (1 position) Key tasks and responsibilities: •Conduct baseline study and VCA to identify DRR and WASH-related risks, capacity and priorities. •Implement project activities with full ownership of communities and local stakeholders. •Mobilization of the target communities and local organization for participation in assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of project interventions. •Regular monitoring and prepare periodic reporting/ case studies to line manager. •Provide necessary technical support, coaching and feedback to the project team for smooth implementation of the project activities. •Support to identify local earthquake preparedness status, vulnerable wards/ households and WASH capacity in terms of major earthquake in Kathmandu valley. •Hold monthly meetings with social mobilizers and collect report from them. Required Qualification and experience: •Bachelors degree in Public Health or any discipline or Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 2 years of experience or Intermediate degree in any discipline with at least 5 years of relevant experience •Knowledge of public health promotion/ engineering or Urban WASH/ DRM and in other relevant areas such as: Community development, CB-DRR education, Community based water supply. •At least two years of practical experience in NGO/INGO related to community development or CBDRM in different contexts. Involvement in emergency relief programme is an asset. •Capacity to provide formal and informal training to stakeholders and community. •Experience and understanding of community mobilization. •Sensitivity to the needs of disaster-affected populations and understanding of GESI approach. •Good communication skills in English and local languages and ability to work in a team. •Skill on computer (Microsoft Package) and written communication skills in English and Nepali. ************************************************************************************************************************************************* Job title: SOCIAL MOBILIZER (2 positions) Key tasks and responsibilities: •Support project team by rapport building with community and local stakeholders to conduct meetings and create environment for meaningful participation. •Conduct necessary awareness raising classes/ trainings to the community ensuring participation of women, marginalized and disabled. •Facilitate in community to select and mobilize volunteers, training participants, task groups etc based on the set criteria. •Hold monthly meeting with CDM/WASH and WEC committees and collect report from facilitators and members. •Monitoring of project activities based on plan and checklist and prepare monthly progress report. Required Qualification and experience: • SLC with at least 2 years of experience on community mobilisation in urban context. • Priority will be given to local residence of project area • Good knowledge and experience on working with local NGOs and CBOs with a capacity to providing training to local people. • Experience and understanding of community mobilization. Sensitive of integrating gender and diversity issues into humanitarian and development programme • Good written and spoken Nepali, English and Local languages with negotiation skills. • Work under pressure and response to changing project needs. Ability to ride bicycle at difficult conditions. ************************************************************************************************************************************************* Job title: ADMIN & FINANCE OFFICER (1 position) Key tasks and responsibilities: •To prepare bank reconciliation (BRC), monthly, quarterly and annual finance report •To prepare general vouchers, to issue cheques and financial documents •To conduct regular field visit to check exact deliveries of project •Assist in procurement and administrative activities Required Qualification and experience: •Bachelor Degree in Business Studies having at least two years experience in relevant field. •Experience in accounting system and preparation of financial report of the project. •Good understanding on taxation system of Nepal •Ability to work in computer with Microsoft Office Packages (MS word, Excel, Power Point) •Good skill on documentation, reporting and communication in English and Nepali languages. •Good understanding on gender, social inclusion/rights issues, willing to work with poor, vulnerable and socially excluded groups.
