Established in 1990, Banke UNESCO Club is a non-government organization and registered under the District Administration Office, Banke and affiliated to Social Welfare Council, The establishment of the organization has been inspired by the ideals of non-violence, social justice, self-reliance, sustainable development and volunteerism. The organization is dedicated to the ideals of holistic and integrated development based on a harmonious balance of socio-culture, material, scientific environmental aspects and increase in literacy rate of Disadvantaged, Marginalized, Deprived, and other Poorest of Poorer groups (POP) including women and child by providing quality education.

Project: Youth Empowerment for Transformation and Innovation (YETI)

Banke UNESCO Clubs has been working in a long-term partnership with Plan International Nepal since. Currently, the organization is collaborating with Plan International Nepal to implement the Youth Empowerment for Transformation and Innovation (YETI) Project in Bardiya District. The project goal is Economic empowerment of young girl, adolescent women and marginalized youths driving inclusive, climate-resilient, and market-driven economies. The project will work equipping young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to initiate and manage sustainable business enterprises. It emphasizes fostering an entrepreneurial mindset that enables youth to identify, develop, and scale innovative business ideas aligned with emerging local market opportunities. Likewise, the project will work on strengthening and institutionalizing enterprise development support systems that enable youths to access business development and support services for entrepreneurship, and business growth. Banke UNESCO Club is inviting applications from interested, qualified and experienced candidates for the following positions to implement the Youth Empowerment for Transformation and Innovation (YETI) Project in Bardiya District.

  • The PC will oversee all activities implemented in Banke District.
  • The position is specifically responsible to:
  • Conduct market assessments, value-chain analyses, and opportunity mapping to identify viable enterprise options for youth and women.
  • Identify, screen, and select potential youth entrepreneurs using standardized enterprise assessment tools.
  • Coordinate the development, adaptation, and delivery of enterprise development and life-skills training modules.
  • Provide technical support to youth entrepreneurs on business registration, licensing, VAT/PAN processes, and cooperative membership.
  • Guide youth entrepreneurs in preparing viable business plans and support implementation of enterprise growth strategies.
  • Facilitate access to grants, seed funding, and youth-friendly financial services.
  • Support the establishment and operationalization of aggregation centers and strengthen market linkage mechanisms.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in enterprise development, youth employment, livelihoods, TVET or market systems development.
  • Proven experience working with youth and women entrepreneurs, preferably in rural or semi-urban contexts.
  • Experience coordinating with local governments, private sector actors, financial institutions, and development partners.
  • Strong understanding of market systems, value-chain development, and enterprise growth models.
  • Sound knowledge of business registration, taxation (VAT/PAN), cooperatives, and financial services in Nepal.
  • Excellent coordination, facilitation, networking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports in English and Nepali.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and internet-based applications.
