Human Rights and Environment Development Centre (HuRENDEC) Nepal, Kalikot has been well established in Kalikot and working in Karnali region for more than 2 decades. The organization has been working on need based action orientated multi-disciplinary areas through social mobilization especially focusing on human rights, livelihood, micro enterprise, infrastructure, climate change, cash for work, lobby/advocacy, empowerment, disaster management, natural resource management and ecofriendly infrastructure. 

HuRENDEC Kalikot has been implementing “Girls Standing Strong (GSS)" project in partnership with Plan International Nepal in Raskot Municipality of Kalikot district. The key goal of the project is to ensure that all child, adolescent and young (CAY) particularly girls and young women enjoy their rights to live free from child, early and forced marriage (CEFM). 

For this purpose, HuRENDEC Kalikot invites application from result oriented and highly motivated Nepalese candidate for the following positions. 

1. Position: Project Coordinator -1

Job Purpose

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the project. S/he will oversee partnership management, budget management, team management, and stakeholder engagement. The role ensures effective coordination with stakeholders and the quality delivery of program activities in Kalikot District.

Contract Type: H-SC 7

  • Duty Station: Raskot Municipality, Kalikot (frequently movement in project areas)
  • Report to: Program Director 
  • Salary and Benefits: As per the organizational policies and project agreement

Minimum Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master's Degree preferred) in Agriculture, Development Studies, Public Health, Social Work, or related field. 
  • At least 5 years of work experience (or 3 years for candidates with an agriculture background) in project management and implementation, including a minimum of 2 years of intensive experience in agriculture, nutrition, livelihood/entrepreneurship, and child/youth rights. 
  • Strong communication and coordination skills. 
  • Ability to work in remote and rural areas like Kalikot

Major Key Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator will lead project management and stakeholder coordination. Key responsibilities include:

1. Program Implementation

  • Coordinate and support implementation of program activities across Nutrition, climate smart agriculture, Entrepreneurship, Child & Youth Rights, and WASH. 
  • Ensure activities are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with project objectives. 
  • Provide technical and operational support to field teams. 

2. Planning and Coordination

  • Prepare work plans, activity schedules, and budgets in coordination with the Program Director. 
  • Coordinate with local government bodies, community groups, schools, and health facilities. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and partners. 

3. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track program progress against targets and indicators. 
  • Collect, verify, and compile data from the field. 
  • Prepare regular progress reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual). 

4. Community Engagement

  • Mobilize communities and ensure participation of women, children, and youth. 
  • Support awareness campaigns and capacity-building activities. 
  • Promote inclusive and rights-based approaches in all interventions. 

5. Capacity Building

  • Organize trainings, orientations, and workshops for staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries. 
  • Provide on-site coaching and mentoring to field staff. 

6. Compliance and Quality Assurance

  • Ensure program activities follow organizational policies and donor requirements. 
  • Maintain proper documentation and records.
  • Promote safeguarding, gender equality, and inclusion in all program areas.

Skills and Competencies

  • Project and stakeholder management.
  • strong facilitation and training skills 
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities 
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office, reporting tools)
  • Proficiency in both English and Nepali (knowledge of local languages is an added advantage). 

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel frequently within project areas of Kalikot district 
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and community empowerment
