Position: Programme Officer (Nutrition and Health)
Duration: Till 31 December 2025
Duty station: Kathmandu Valley with more than 50% field visit

Reporting to: Program Manager
The Programme Officer (Nutrition and Health) is responsible for:
Key responsibilities 1: Partnership and Coordination
- Foster and maintain partnerships with local government, community representatives, and stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the GNC team and other relevant organizations to align activities with municipal and national Multi-sectoral programs.
- Facilitate regular meetings and updates with stakeholders to ensure collaborative implementation.
Key Responsibilities 2: Implementation and Scale-Up of Interventional Research
- Oversee the preparation and implementation of the locally-adapted multi-sectorial intervention package for MAM children under 5 and their families, based on Phase II outcomes.
- Lead the mass screening in 2025 to identify MAM cases across Belaka Municipality.
- Ensure identification of households with MAM children through regular assessments at health facilities and campaigns.
- Manage referrals of MAM children to health facilities for appropriate care and Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) children as per protocol.
- Ensure linkages with Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) and local social safety net programs.
- Monitor the introduction and follow-up of the intervention package in all nine wards, ensuring adherence to government programs.
Key responsibilities 3: Analysis and Dissemination
- Oversee data collection and analysis related to MAM interventions and outcomes.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings.
- Lead the dissemination of research findings to stakeholders, local government, and relevant forums.
- Contribute to policy briefs or recommendations based on research outcomes.
Key responsibilities 4: Programme Management
- Develop and manage work plans, timelines, and budgets for Phase III activities.
- Supervise field staff and coordinate with health workers and FCHVs.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards and project protocols.
- Provide regular progress reports to the GNC team and stakeholders
Key responsibility 5: Other
- Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality, child protection and disability sensitivity
- Comply with Safeguarding Policy and the relevant annexed policies, which fall under its scope.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- A Master's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Sciences, or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience (preferably in nutrition or public health interventions); or a Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in stakeholder coordination and working with local government and community-based programs.
- Strong understanding of malnutrition interventions, particularly MAM and SAM protocols.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and manage field operations.
- Proficiency in Nepali and English (written and spoken).
- Familiarity with Udayapur, Belaka Municipality or similar contexts is an advantage.
