Friends Affected & Infected Together in Hand (FAITH) is a national, women-led, non-profit, and non-religious organization that works to empower and support marginalized women, indigenous communities, and those excluded due to geography, or economic hardship.

Role Overview

FAITH is seeking a qualified and motivated Program Officer with expertise in policy advocacy and program implementation in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender-based violence (GBV), and gender equality. The officer will support and protect adolescents, girls, and women from indigenous communities, as well as HIV key populations, including women living with HIV, female sex workers, and women who use drugs.

Position: Program Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with parliamentarians, policymakers, and other stakeholders to raise awareness of issues related to GBV, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), and the challenges faced by HIV key populations.
  • Advocate for comprehensive Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) policies, GBV prevention measures, and SRHR rights.
  • Collaborate with the Nepal Police and other duty bearers to promote respect for human rights and enhance accountability in addressing GBV and SRHR issues.
  • Establish and maintain regular communication channels with local government, police, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and implementation of program activities.
  • Support program planning, implementation, and monitoring, ensuring advocacy perspectives are integrated throughout.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and reporting of program activities, advocacy initiatives, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Contribute to the development of knowledge products, policy briefs, and advocacy materials to support evidence-based interventions.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in public health, social work, gender studies or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience coordinating with government agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of GBV issues, international standards, and best practices.
  • Proven experience in coordinating with policymakers and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong team and independent work skills, with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in HIV KP rights advocacy and indigenous communities.
