SO Nepal is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working in Nepal for the protection of vulnerable children by providing temporary shelter and reintegrating them with family/community where possible. SO Nepal urgently requires a Program Manager for the overall management of its projects: transit home/child care home located in Shivapuri, Nuwakot, and reintegration programs across different parts of Nepal.

Position: Program Manager (1) – Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage SO Nepal’s projects: transit home/child care home, reintegration program, and education scholarship program.
• Conduct home visits to meet children and parents, providing necessary guidance and support.
• Conduct school visits, meet teachers, and assess children’s educational performance.
• Facilitate orientation/training for children, staff, and parents.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and Government of Nepal standards.
• Supervise and guide live-in staff of child care home/transit home.
• Coordinate with government agencies, stakeholders, and SCAI.
• Prepare monthly and periodic reports.
• Documentation and development of organizational policies and guidelines.
• Provide career guidance for children.
• Support families/parents with livelihood guidance and empowerment.
• Perform any other relevant tasks assigned by the organization.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Master’s Degree/Post-Graduation in Counselling Psychology or equivalent degree in Social Science .
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (child care home, transit home, child protection, etc.).
• Advanced proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Advanced computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet).
• Gender and cultural sensitivity.
• Valid two-wheeler driving license.
• Willingness to work off-site and during weekends; strong facilitation skills.
• Ability to conduct frequent field visits and travel to remote areas.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of livelihood programs.
• Commitment to child protection policy.
• Female candidates with relevant work experience and a Master’s/Post-Graduation in psychosocial counselling are strongly encouraged to apply.
