LIFE Nepal is a non-profit making organization (NGO) registered at the District Administration Office, Dhanusha in 2012. LIFE Nepal works in the areas of improving education, health, social protection, and livelihood of Nepali citizens (especially Girls, Dalit, Muslim, Women, Youth, Adolescent and Persons with Disability) for their dignified life.   

LIFE Nepal with the partnership of CBM Global Disability Inclusion is implementing “Inclusive Climate Resilient Community Development in Nepal (IRCDN)” in Janakpurdham Sub Metropolitan City, Mithila Bihari Municipality and Aaurahi Rural Municipality of Dhanusha district in collaboration with Disabled Society Janakpur (DSJ). LIFE Nepal is seeking suitable and qualified Nepalese citizens for the following position:

Program Manager - 1 (full time based in Janakpurdham with extensive field engagement) 

A. Project Development and Management

  • Provide strategic leadership to manage projects and ensure achievement of project outcomes/results as per project documents.
  • Apply rights-based and other development/humanitarian approaches, policies, and strategies.
  • Conduct thorough community needs assessments; analyze social, economic, and environmental contexts to design impactful interventions.
  • Develop realistic project budgets; manage financial resources; track expenditures; ensure compliance with financial policies and donor guidelines.
  • Promote transparency, accountability, gender equality, and inclusion of persons with disabilities.
  • Work effectively in a multicultural environment.
  • Build networks and strong organizational teams through effective communication.

B. Staff Management

  • Lead, assign, and monitor work of team members ensuring goals, objectives, and deadlines are met.
  • Develop work procedures aligned with organizational policies and establish work schedules.
  • Train, manage, delegate responsibilities, and facilitate workshops and training sessions.

C. Reporting & Documentation

  • Write and finalize high-quality, analytical, and data-driven reports in English for donors, government, internal stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
  • Maintain good understanding of Nepal’s development sector.
  • Ensure clear and effective written and spoken communication in English.

D. Administration

  • Maintain good working relationships with project staff, government officials, donors, OPDs (Organizations of Persons with Disabilities), and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse teams.

E. Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Lead management of validated data and information to reflect project results accurately and timely.
  • Support teams in using digital platforms for data input, regular data review, and analysis.
  • Ensure integrity and accuracy of data and information management.
  • Prepare periodic reports including community feedback and M&E results to support project quality and corrective actions.
  • Oversee baseline, end-line, and project evaluations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Master’s degree in Social Sciences or Development Studies with minimum 3 years of experience in project management, policy advocacy, and local resource mobilization.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Development Studies with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills in English, Nepali, and Maithili (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data analysis.
  • Strong leadership, team management, training facilitation, and delegation skills.
  • Budgeting and financial management skills with adherence to donor guidelines.
  • Analytical skills for report writing and data-driven decision making.
  • Networking and organizational development skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
  • Ability to promote transparency, accountability, gender sensitivity, and inclusion.

Competencies:

  • Target-oriented, proactive, and flexible.
  • Strong sense of work ethics and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Commitment to rights-based approaches and inclusive development.
