Established in 1991, the Center for Environmental and Agricultural Policy Research, Extension and Development (CEAPRED) is a national non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nepal. Since its inception, CEAPRED has consciously and consistently focused on three main thematic areas: i) sustainable poverty reduction and enhancement of food security and livelihoods of the poor, disadvantaged and deprived families, including women and marginal farmers; (ii) action/policy research; and (iii) sustainable ecosystem and environmental management. CEAPRED’s project implementation strategy follows a three-pronged approach consisting of i) social mobilization to organize and prepare the target groups to participate in their own development, ii) capacity development of the groups to implement the development activities, and iii) institutionalization of the groups in to cooperatives and/or linking them with other service providers and markets for their sustainability. 

CEAPRED is looking for an experienced and compassionate Program Manager (development writer, communicator and manager). Based in CEAPRED head office, this is a management position responsible for conceptualizing, designing and developing quality project reports, documents and concept notes/proposals across multiple sectors.The successful candidates should possess sound knowledge and prior experiences in leading program development and fundraising strategies, and conducting market research in different sectors. S/he should have excellent speaking and writing skills in English language and be able to prepare and deliver clear, concise and appealing presentations to a range of audiences..

Basic Responsibilities:

• Providing strategic inputs on program development in line with CEAPRED’s thematic areas of focus and Nepal’s development needs;
• Identifying and analyzing new program opportunities, exploring opportunities with government and non-government agencies, development partners and donors;
• Writing solicited/unsolicited project concept notes and proposals for external funding;
• Designing and implementing marketing strategies and campaigns for new program development;
• Organizing and attending events related to funding opportunities,and networking with relevant stakeholders;
• Managing field operations in coordination and collaboration with government organizations, private sector partners and development agencies;
• Writing reports, documents and articles for CEAPRED and donors as per need.

Basic Qualifications:

• Advanced university degree in Agricultural Economics or Agri Business or related fields;
• At least 5 years of experience in program development and program management;
• Sound knowledge of the socio-economic and gender equality, agricultural and environmental sectors in Nepal;
• Excellent written, verbal, and telephonic communication skills in English and Nepali languages.
