Samagra Jan-Utthan Kendra (APEC) envisions to achieve justice for all people, grounded in human rights, through a collaborative and peaceful process in the society. APEC in partnership with GIZ-CPS (Civil Peace Service) is working for Dialogue as a conflict transformative approach in Madesh province, particularly in Siraha district. The organization strengthens community dialogue forums and inter-religious dialogue through various dialogue-committees and engages in peace education.
We are seeking for an enthusiast program intern who is committed to strengthening sustainable peace and harmony through dialogue and conflict transformation.
Position: Program Intern
Program: Dialogue for Peace
Duration: 15 June 2025 to 14 December 2025 (Possibility of 3 months extension)
Working location: Lahan, Siraha, Madhesh Province
Reports to: Supervisor (Local Peace Expert)
Objective of the internship:
The primary objective of this internship is to assist supervisor to manage Dialogue for Peace program smoothly. This opportunity will provide the theoretical as well as practical knowledge of dialogue culture to promote peace building processes in the community. Furthermore, the internship aims to cultivate an understanding of the project, organizational structure and operational dynamics.
Responsibilities:
- The intern shall assist supervisor (Local Peace Expert) to organize, implement and document project activities as well as in various day-to-day tasks. Specific tasks will include:
- To assist in coordination with peace actors and stakeholders for program implementations
- To Support in logistic arrangements to organize project activities as per work plan
- To Support in financial settlements of participants during major events
- To assist in report writing and project documentation
- Any other task assigned by supervisor for smooth operation of project activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in social science, Political Science, Conflict Management, Management or any related discipline
- Good knowledge of local language, English and Nepali (both verbal and written)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, power point etc.)
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Considerable to gender and cultural sensitivity
- Highly committed to grow professionally
- Experience in dialogue facilitation, moderation and training will be an added value
