We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Program Assistant and Psychologist to join our team and support our programs.

1. Job Description Program Assistant (Female Candidate Only): As a Program Assistant for Community Program, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the program manager and team in planning, coordinating, and implementing community-focused initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the program manager to develop and execute a comprehensive community awareness program, including workshops, orientations, trainings and educational campaigns 
  • Assist in the resource development and facilitation of program workshop
  • Coordinate with target group and manage program calendars, schedules, and appointments. 
  • Coordinate logistics for program events, such as program supplies and equipment setup.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant records and databases.
  • Generate reports and summaries to track program progress and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with program staff and volunteers to ensure program goals are met.
  • Guide and interact effectively with volunteers from other disciplines and organizations

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., public health, social work, development studies).
  • Experience in program coordination or community engagement is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a passion for community development.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position that may require some evening and weekend work to accommodate program events and meetings.
  • The Program Assistant will work primarily in an office setting but also need to travel to various community locations outside Kathmandu valley.
  • The Program Assistant will need to assist various activities at Unatti Group Home for girls on need basis.

2. Job Description Psychologist (Female Candidate Only): As a psychologist, you will be responsible for conducting psychotherapy sessions with children and family members, conducting assessments and tests, diagnosing any issues and developing strategies and treatments to overcome them. The Psychologist will also be involved in developing well-being programs for all participants and staff of Unatti programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling to children and to the parents of children that are receiving services from the organization
  • Conduct initial assessments to identify emotional, mental and behavioral needs, develop individualized session plans based on assessment results
  • Provide ongoing individual and group therapy
  • Provide training, support and assistance with children and families to improve activities of daily living, self-help skills, social skills, maturity, emotional security, improved personal relationships and the capacity for self-understanding and self-empowerment.
  • Collaborate with other members of the organization to provide comprehensive programmatic care
  • Develop well-being programs to expand inclusiveness and feelings of belonging
  • Participate in sharing sessions and team meetings
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date session records, documents and reports
  • Provide girls with referrals to other therapists, clinics or facilities as needed
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices and evidence-based approaches for mental health of children residing under alternative care

Qualifications 

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology
  • Licensure or certification as required by state regulations (e.g., Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
  • Strong communication and active listening skills
  • Empathy and the ability to build a therapeutic rapport with clients
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse populations
  • Knowledge of various therapeutic approaches and evidence-based interventions
  • Ethical conduct and a commitment to maintaining client confidentiality
  • Ability to provide understanding and empathy
  • A self-starter with ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience in counseling especially with children for a year or more is a plus
  • Bi-lingual: Nepali and English

Working Conditions:

  • This is a full-time position that may require some evening and most weekend work to accommodate counseling sessions
  • The Psychologist will work primarily in an office setting but will also need to travel to various community locations outside Kathmandu valley on an as needed basis
