1. Organizational Background & Program Context
U-GO Nepal is a non-governmental social organization registered in 2023 and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council (SWC) of Nepal. Guided by the core conviction that 'Talent is universal; opportunity is not,' U-GO Nepal transforms communities by empowering promising young women and marginalized students to pursue and complete higher education.
In response to severe flood damage caused by flash flooding in the Bhote Koshi River corridor, U-GO Global and U-GO Nepal have launched the U-GO Nepal Futures Fund: One-Time Flood-Affected College Student Support Program. This NPR 77.85 Million initiative targets up to 500 college students in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading who face acute financial hardship and risk interrupting their studies. To ensure rapid, transparent, and rigorous execution, U-GO Nepal is recruiting two dedicated Facilitation Coordinators for a 6-month period.
2. Position Overview & Specific Focus Areas
The Nepal Futures Fund Facilitation Coordinators will drive the operational execution, field assessment, verification, stakeholder liaison, and disbursement tracking of emergency grant assistance for flood-affected college students across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading districts.
Two headcount positions are available with specific operational focus areas:
Field-Based Facilitation Coordinator (1 Headcount - Rasuwa/Nuwakot/Dhading): Focuses on intensive field operations, conducting physical/phone verifications, home visits across remote communities, college outreach, local Ward office liaison, and direct student support.
Kathmandu-Based Facilitation Coordinator (1 Headcount - Central Office, Lalitpur): Focuses on central database management, central college coordination in Kathmandu Valley, application intake & screening, grant disbursement preparation, documentation, SWC statutory reporting, and U-GO Global compliance.
3. Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Multi-Stakeholder Coordination (25%): Establish and maintain institutional contacts with affected colleges, campus chiefs, Ward Offices, Municipalities, and local disaster management committees across Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading to announce grant opportunities and identify eligible students.
Beneficiary Assessment & Verification (35%): Screen incoming applications, conduct phone interviews and physical home visits to verify flood impact on household income and property.
Disbursement Oversight & Documentation (20%): Coordinate fund disbursement to verified student bank accounts, direct college tuition fee payments, and in-kind study material distributions. Maintain complete beneficiary registries, payment receipts, student acknowledgements, and audit-ready grant records.
Monitoring, Post-Distribution Check & Follow-Up (10%): Execute 3-month post-distribution monitoring surveys to track student re-enrollment, retention, and ongoing educational persistence. Conduct learning reviews with college focal points and beneficiaries.
Reporting & Administrative Support (10%): Compile analytical progress reports, financial reconciliation documentation, and final completion reports for U-GO Executive Leadership, U-GO Global, and the Social Welfare Council (SWC).
4. Qualifications & Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work (BSW/MSW), Development Studies, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Field & Project Experience: Minimum of 2–4 years of practical experience in field assessment, emergency relief distribution, scholarship management, or community development programs in Nepal.
District Familiarity: Proven experience working in or strong familiarity with northern/central district geographies (Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading) is highly preferred for the field position.
Assessment & Analytical Skills: Proven ability to conduct objective household surveys, vulnerability scoring, qualitative interviewing, and verifying flood-impact documentation.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Superior communication skills in Nepali and English, with high empathy, cultural sensitivity, and diplomacy when engaging disaster-affected families and local government officials.
Technical & Digital Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Excel, digital survey forms, data entry, basic database management, and modern digital productivity/AI tools.
5. Application Instructions
Interested and qualified candidates are invited to submit their application package including:
