Introduction

Since its legal status in 2016, Hamro Palo has expanded its work in various districts of Nepal working in close partnership with government schools and communities. Till May 2023, around 8000 adolescent girls and 2500 adolescent boys have graduated from our flagship programs – Her Turn and His Chance Education and Empowerment Program. We have been delivering youth-based programs in the rural communities including mentorship programs and Annual conferences highlighting Girl-led leadership. Hamro Palo is now seeking a qualified human resource to fulfill the position of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer. If you are passionate about girl-led leadership, community development and building human capital, join us! 

Position: Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Officer  

Station: Kathmandu

Duration: 1-year contract 

Reports to: Executive Director (ED) 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the organization's MEL framework, including performance indicators, data collection tools and methodologies, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Conduct regular data collection and analysis to track progress towards program goals and objectives.
  • Support program staff in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation plans for individual projects, and provide technical assistance and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct evaluations of program activities to assess the effectiveness and impact of interventions, and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing across the organization through the development and dissemination of best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.
  • Support the development of donor reports and other communication materials related to program impact and results.
  • Participate in program planning and strategy development processes to ensure that monitoring, evaluation and learning are integrated throughout.
  • Integrate gender into M&E systems promoting gender equality and gender mainstreaming.
  • Travel to different districts and communities as and when required.

Education, Skills and Experiences:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field,
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning,
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis,
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines,
  • Quick learner able to work on many different activities at once while maintaining attention to detail,
  • Proficiency in English and fluency in Nepali are required,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Demonstrated skills in using Microsoft Office software and web-based communication tools,
  • Good understanding of issues working with girls, young women, children or youth in rural context,
  • Knowledge of current best practices and emerging trends in MEL.
