Okhaldhunga Community Hospital is a primary care hospital of 50 inpatient beds, with plans to expand towards a 100-bed hospital in the future. It also hosts a Community-Based Rehabilitation programme. The hospital is a referral centre for Okhaldhunga District (due south from Everest) and additionally serves people from the surrounding districts, accounting for a population of more than 250,000. The hospital provides primary hospital services (general practice level), particularly in the areas of adult medicine and surgery, maternity, paediatrics and orthopaedics. Dentistry is also available. The hospital runs a child nutrition rehab centre and a maternal waiting home for 24 expectant mothers.

Okhaldhunga Community Hospital (OCH) is a 50-bed rural hospital located east of Kathmandu, about a day’s journey by vehicle. We provide a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services to the surrounding communities, including orthopaedics, obstetrics, general medicine, surgery, physiotherapy, paediatrics, gynaecology, dentistry, and primary care. We offer an appropriate range of investigative and therapeutic services, including a C-ARM. The hospital is also associated with a thriving community-based rehabilitation programme. The hospital is a referral centre for the district’s health posts, with referrals also coming from surrounding districts. OCH currently sees traumatic fractures, road traffic accidents, obstetric emergencies, and general medical and surgical cases.To strengthen our team, we invite applications from qualified and dedicated candidates for the following position: Medical Officer (MBBS).

Main Role:
Work as a member of the hospital medical team in the care of inpatients, outpatients and the emergency room. Participate in the doctors’ on-call duty roster.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery MBBS (or equivalent) from a recognised university with Nepal Medical Council registration.
Preferred Experience
Newly graduated medical officers are welcome to apply.
One or two years of working as a hospital-based medical officer would be an advantage.
Grade level 9. Salary and benefits are according to OCH standards.
(Note: Starts at Grade Level 8 and will be upgraded to Level 9 after successful completion of the probationary period.)
