1. Background
The KOICA Inclusive Rural Development Project in Bardiya District, Nepal 2024~2029 (IRDB Project) is being implemented across eight municipalities in Bardiya District, Lumbini Province. The project aims to revitalize the local economy through the promotion of Locally Initiated Projects (LIPs).
The project is implemented in collaboration with the Government of Nepal and the Government of the Republic of Korea, and is managed by the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) comprising Korea Institute for Development Strategy (KDS) and Global Expert Hub Consultancy (GEH).
KDS invites applications from qualified, competent, and self-motivated Nepalese candidates for the following position:
2. Position Details
- Position Title: Junior Project Officer (JPO)
- Number of Positions: 2 (Two)
- Duty Station: Bansgadhi Municipality Office, Bardiya District (with frequent field visits)
3. Position Summary
The Junior Project Officer (JPO) will provide operational and technical support for field-level project implementation. The role requires effective coordination with stakeholders, timely reporting, accurate documentation, and clear communication.
The JPO will work closely with the Senior Project Officers, Local Project Manager, Project Specialists, partner organizations, and local stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery. The position contributes to strengthening agriculture and ecotourism value chains and enhancing the capacity of local governments and cooperatives.
Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) as required.
4. Qualifications
(1) Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in agriculture, livestock, or value chain development
- Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and reporting
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to field locations
(2) Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with cooperatives or development projects
- Prior involvement in KOICA-funded projects
- Valid two-wheeler driving license
