INTERSHIP PROGRAM AT USAID’S
HEALTH FOR LIFE (H4L) PROJECT
USAID’s Health for Life (H4L) project, implemented by RTI International, announces an internship opportunity for interested and qualified individuals, especially women, from Dalit or disadvantaged communities for a 12-month internship program starting on or about June 2015 in the following programmatic areas.
- Health Governance
- Health Service Delivery
- Gender Equity and Social Inclusion (GESI).
The purpose is to expose interns to an appropriate professional experience and gain the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare for employment or further education in the field of social development or public health. The candidates are expected to gain an understanding of the GoN’s health systems, local health governance, and health services, and increase access to and utilization of health services.
The internship promotes individuals from marginalized and disadvantaged groups.
Interns will be based in Kapilvastu and Dang districts and works closely with H4L teams. Selected interns will be provided a monthly stipend.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor-level studies in public health or social sciences
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with basic skills in the use of computers
- Commitment to workingdirectly with M/DAG communities in diverse settings
- Willingness to make frequent field visits, including visiting FCHVs, outreach clinics, mothers' groups, etc.
