Maiti Nepal, like any other Non-Government Organization (NGO) in Nepal, operates through a general agreement with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal that allows it to implement programs to prevent human trafficking by reaching out to the community, particularly children and women, by raising the awareness level of communities and extending life skills so that children and women are not trafficked into different forms of abuse including exploitation.

JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Human Resource Officer

Job Description:

  • Responsible for the proper documentation of all daily HR activities in efficient and timely manner
  • Strongly responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all the staffs personal issues including salaries, contracts, disciplinary issues etc 
  • To play crucial role of liaison between head office and branch offices in communicating all information about staffing 
  • To work closely with various departments, increasingly in a consultancy role, assist supervisor to understand and implement policies and procedures
  • To promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organization
  • To assist supervisor with developing relevant job description 
  • Responsible for ensuring all the staff personal files are up-to-date, files are complete and properly documented
  • Preparing and posting of vacancy announcement for new positions in the organization
  • Preparation of staff's new contractual letter, extension letter, experience letter, recommendation letter etc
  • Liaising with the range of the people involved in policy areas like staff performance and health and safety issues
  • To undertake regular salary reviews
  • Developing and implementing policies on various issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities and absence management 
  • To facilitate orientation or induction of the new employees and also rules and regulation related to HR policies
  • Timely update of the records of the staffs, if any changes occur in the documentation of the employee's personal files
  • To prepare all the paperwork for new employees including opening new employee record in HR system, creating personal file and also collecting all require documents
  • To conduct all the process for the leavers as required by the organization
  • To compile  all the training records and also to communicate supervisor about the training needs for any department
  • Assist the supervisor in Performance Appraisal and to compile them properly
  • To keep records of all the employees of head office as well as branch offices in their personal leave record files
  • To implement and suggest on HRIS 
  • Perform all other duties as per requirement

Job Specification: 

  • Masters degree in management with 1 year of relevant work experience or Bachelor degree in management with 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent Communication skills (Both written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Knowledge of Labor law
