Expression of Interest for Social Audit

Rural Women Development and Unity Centre (RUWDUC) has been lending a voice to women, children, and youth since its establishment in 1995. RUWDUC aims to promote the well-being of humanity and ensure equality for all, including access to education, healthcare, justice, and a violence-free society. Aligning with its vision and Mission, in collaboration with World Vision International (WVI), Oxfam in Nepal and population connection, has been implementing three community-based development projects in the Dadeldhura district, including Transboundary River of South Asia ( TROSA-II), Amplyfying Advocacy through Strategic Engagement( AASEP), Girls Empowerment Project ( GEP)  and Partners Investment Fund( PIF) . To ensure these initiatives are aligned with rights-based approaches and reflect the voices of the communities, RUWDUC is conducting a social audit for the fiscal year 2081-82 for it’s two projects; TROSA-II and AASEP.

The social audit, an important social accountability tool for RUWDUC an  is being conducted to verify the implementation of the projects and its result, to assess the project's adherence to social responsibility and ethical standards, ensuring accountability and transparency. It aims to evaluate the impact of all the current projects interventions on stakeholders and promote continuous improvement in its social and ethical practices.

RUWDUC now seeks application from the Individual Consulting Personnel/Expert for the following works:

1. Verification of Project Implementation:

  • Conduct field visits to beneficiary communities to verify the implementation of the project.
  • Assess the extent to which the project's goals and activities have been carried out as planned.
  • Engage with beneficiary communities, local institutions, and local governments to gather feedback and insights on the project's impact and effectiveness.

2. Evaluation of Transparency and Accountability Mechanisms:

  • Evaluate the project's transparency and accountability mechanisms to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Review project documentation and communication strategies to assess their effectiveness.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders, including community members, local institutions, and partners regarding their perception of transparency and accountability in the project.

3. Assessment of Social Impact:

  • Assess the social impact of the project on target communities.
  • Promote inclusivity and gender equity by examining the extent to which the project has addressed the needs of diverse community members.
  • Evaluate the sustainability of project outcomes beyond its completion and provide recommendations for enhancing long-term impact.

4. Measurement of Advocacy and Engagement Strategies:

  • Measure the effectiveness of advocacy and engagement strategies employed in the project.
  • Confirm that these strategies align with RUWDUC's values and objectives.
  • Assess the extent to which community members are empowered to actively participate in project-related decisions and activities.

5. Examination of Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Examine the level of engagement of stakeholders, including community representatives, local institutions, local governments, and NGOs, in all phases of the project.
  • Identify areas for improvement in stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

6. Financial and Resource Management Review:

  • Examine the project's financial and resource management to ensure efficient use of funds.
  • Assess the alignment of financial practices with project goals and objectives.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in resource management and financial accountability.

7. Reporting, Defense and Documentation:

  • Prepare reports documenting findings, observations, and recommendations.
  • Powerpoint Presentation to RUWDUC.
  • Draft a comprehensive document based on the assessment of transparency, accountability, and social impact.

  • Copy of VAT/PAN registration certificate/personal PAN
  • Latest tax clearance certificate (FY 080/81)
  • Any other related document
