Applications are invited from interested, committed and dynamic Nepali nationals for the following positions:

1. Position: Emergency Monitoring Evaluation & Learning (MEL) & Communications Officer -1 

Duty Station - Nuwakot, Nepal

General position Summary: The MEL and Communication Officer support Mercy Corps Nepal's Emergency Response Program by ensuring monitoring, evaluation and learning systems meet organizational standards, and that program results, learning and best practices are effectively documented and communicated to internal and external stakeholders.  This position works closely with the Emergency Response Coordinator, Country MEL Focal Person, and partner to strengthen data quality, participant tracking, and reporting compliance, while also leading communication and knowledge management functions from donor- and media-facing materials to internal learning platforms in line with Mercy Corps' branding and quality standards. 

Required Qualification and skills: Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Management, Mass Communications, or a related field with 3–5 years of relevant experience in MEL, communications, and/or knowledge management within the disaster risk management or humanitarian sector. Candidates should have experience designing and implementing MEL systems, analyzing and using data, working with digital data collection tools and web-based platforms, and applying accountability approaches, particularly to communities and program participants. Experience in building MEL capacity through training, coaching, mentoring, and development of training tools is also required.

2. Position: Emergency Finance Officer -1

Duty Station – Kathmandu, Nepal

General position Summary: The Emergency Finance Officer is responsible for supporting day to day financial operations of the emergency response project ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with Mercy Corps Nepal policies and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for processing payments, managing bank-related activities, maintaining accurate accounting records in the financial system, and supporting month-end reconciliations and working closely with partner organization ensuring financial management of partner organization.

Required Qualification and skills: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Financial Management, or a relevant business field, with 3–5 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, preferably with I/NGOs. Candidates should have knowledge of Government of Nepal tax regulations, VAT, and TDS requirements, along with strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines, and proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and financial/accounting software. Strong communication, coordination, planning, organizational, and reporting skills are required, as well as the ability to work effectively in diverse and sensitive environments.
