Position: Consultant to develop Communications Guideline

Number of positions required: 1 (one)

Duration: 10 working days

Location: Kathmandu

Purpose of the Job

The objective of hiring Communications Guideline Consultant is to develop standard communications guideline for Ipas Nepal. The guideline should reflect internal communications, external communications and media engagement including social media. 

Detailed duties and responsibilities for the position

  • Review and analyze standard current communications practices.
  • Organize workshops/meetings with Ipas staff, relevant partners, and government as and when needed. 
  • Draft the communications guideline with clear steps, modality, mechanism, formats.
  • The guideline should assess strategic direction and process of internal, external and media communications including social media handling.
  • Present and finalize the communications guideline and submit to Ipas Nepal. 

Deliverables for assignment: 

  • Develop an inception report based on the internal meetings, desk research and contextual analysis. 
  • A draft of the step-by-step communications guideline. 
  • Final communications guideline and share with Ipas Nepal team.  

Qualification and skill requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Sociology, Development Studies or in relevant academic background with minimum of 10 years of practical work experience in development of communications plan, programs and guidelines. 
  • Should have sound written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali language 
  • Experience in conceptualizing, developing, drafting and delivering technically sound communications guidelines particularly for I/NGOs
