The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 191-member National Societies (NSs). Details / requirements:
IFRC CRC opened a consultant position for Health Program Support. The consultant will assist in executing and documenting the CRS/NRCS current projects and developing new projects. This role involves assisting with day-to-day tasks, preparing documents, coordinating meetings, writing new projects, and supporting CRC and NRCS initiatives.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC)/Canadian Red Cross (CRC) is committed to support the Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) ’s long-term health and health emergency programs with a vision to build the institutional capacity of NRCS within Nepal’s National Health system. To achieve this CRC is working closely with NRCS to support various health programming based on NRCS health policy, health strategy and priorities and engages with Red Cross Movement (RCM) partners in country (IFRC, International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) and Partner National Societies (PNSs).
The program’s support focuses on but is not limited to impacts of climate change on health and health system, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), epidemic and pandemic preparedness and response, non-communicable diseases in humanitarian settings, Red Cross Emergency Clinic (RCEC), among others.
The IFRC/CRC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Consultant to support in implementing health programs, conducting research and contributing to emergency health preparedness and response initiatives of the NRCS/CRC.
The position is based primarily in the CRC Delegation office in Kathmandu, Nepal, and reports directly to the CRC RHM. The consultant will work closely with the NRCS health service department and the project team, as well as the IFRC and PNSs.
Job purpose
Under the guidance of the Regional Health Manager (RHM), the Consultant will assist in executing and documenting the CRC/NRCS current projects and developing new projects. This role involves assisting with day-to-day tasks, preparing documents, coordinating meetings, writing new projects, and supporting the CRC and NRCS initiatives.
Job duties and responsibilities
The incumbent will assist RHM,
1. Support in current project implementation and project development
- Support the implementation of current CRC supported health programs, including project planning, monitoring, and data management
- Maintain logic model, performance measurement framework (PMF), and analyse program impact
- Contribute to drafting project reports, presentations, and communication materials.
- Contribute to maintaining project documentation and knowledge management systems.
- Identify gaps and possible opportunities to develop new project proposals
- Assist in developing new project proposals
2. Support to Operational Research
- Assist in conducting literature reviews, research tools development, data collection, and analysis for CRC health projects and other research initiatives.
- Draft research reports, prepare project case studies, and maintain databases
3. Support to Health Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Contribute to rapid health needs assessments, epidemiological surveys, and situation analyses in disaster-affected areas.
- Assist in tracking disease outbreaks and other public health threats, contributing to early warning and response systems
- Support coordination efforts with government health authorities, humanitarian agencies, and community stakeholders.
- Support NRCS in inspecting RCEC logistic and maintaining inventory
5. Administrative support
- Assist in office inventory management and maintaining office equipment.
- Assist in organizing events, workshops, and travels by preparing materials and coordinating logistics.
Other tasks
- Participate in health team meeting and other as tasked by RHM
- Participate in technical meetings with Ministry of Health and Population and RCM partners, as relevant
- Assist in coordinating with local health authorities, NGOs, and partners for programme and research collaboration.
- Any other kind of support requested by RHM
