Terms of Reference For Individual Consultant

Hiring Office:IFRC Country Office, Nepal
Purpose of consultancy:To hire proof reader and designer who can provide quality editing/proofreading and designing  Nepali draft National Cholera Elimination Plan (Nepali Version).
Scope of work: (Description of services, activities, or outputs)
  • Under the guidance and direct supervision of the EDCD,DoHS and DWSSM,MoWS the editor/proof-reader and designer will undertake the following duties and responsibilities: 
  • Review the final draft of a document to ensure consistency, flow of the sentences and accuracy in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting, 
  • Correct errors and spelling, 
  • Correct issues at the core of writing such sentence construction and language clarity, 
  • Edit the style and fine-tune the text to make sure the document makes sense as a whole 
  • Ensure the document is written with adequate style, using terminologies accepted by MoHP,
  • Consult with NCEP consultant when required,
  • Designed and formatted version of the NCEP (PDF and editable design files) with high-resolution and low-resolution versions for print and web use. Source files (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator) of the final design.
Duration and working schedule:

Successful candidates will have contract with IFRC for a maximum duration of 15 Days.

Place where services are to be delivered:The consultants will work remotely or physically and produce files electronically.
Delivery dates and how work will be delivered (e.g. electronic, hard copy etc.):The consultant will submit deliverables electronically by email. All deliverables are exclusive to MoHP, DoHS/EDCD, MOWS/DWSSM and IFRC CD Nepal. Delivery Date TBD.
Monitoring and progress control, including reporting requirements, periodicity format and deadline:Project will be monitored by MoHP, DoHS/EDCD, MOWS/DWSSM and IFRC CD Nepal. MoHP/EDCD/MoWS/DWSSM will be responsible for supervising the document at all stages and IFRC CD will provide approval to the finished product.
Supervisory arrangements:MoHP (Policy, Planning and Monitoring Division), DoHS/EDCD, MOWS/DWSSM and IFRC CD Nepal will supervise the consultant
Expected travel:Not Applicable
Required expertise, qualifications and competencies, including language requirements:

The consultant should have the following qualifications and competencies: 

  • Education qualification in Public Health (Masters). 
  • Minimum five years’ experience in editing/proofreading and designing.
  • Fluent in writing and reading Nepali language, preferably a native speaker. 
  • Knowledge and experience with MoHP/MoWS in general. 
  • Proven skills in editing/proofreading and designing
