Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) is a national network of peace and human rights non-governmental organizations in Nepal. It started as a loose, informal forum in June 2001 and was registered with the government of Nepal as a nonprofit and non-political network in December 2002. Currently, COCAP has 43 member organizations. It has a secretariat in each of the provinces. It has a large number of volunteers who actively involve themselves in the various aspects of its works. COCAP aims to provide a common space for its members, volunteers and friends to collectively engage in the pursuit of peace, human rights and justice in Nepal. It organizes national/provincial level campaigns and programs on the issues of conflict transformation and peace building, transitional justice and social security/protection in coordination with its member organizations and other like-minded organizations.

Collective Campaign for Peace (COCAP) is a national network of 43 peace and human rights non-governmental organizations from 29 different districts of Nepal.  It aims to provide a common space for its members, volunteers and friends to collectively engage in the pursuit for peace, human rights, social protection and justice in Nepal. 

COCAP invites application from eligible Nepalese citizens having ability to deliver results for the position of Communication Officer. Details are as follows:

Job Title: Communication Officer

No. of position: 1

Duration: 1 year with possibility of extension.

Probation period: 3 months.

Work Station: National Secretariat (Bagmati Province – Kathmandu).

Salary: Negotiable.

Reports to: Program Manager.       

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement an effective communications strategy.
  • Write, edit, and distribute content, including publications, press releases, website content, annual reports, resource center management, speeches and other material that communicates the organization's activities and services.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists, and maintain a media database.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the organization. 
  • Maintain records of media coverage focusing on works carried out by the organization.
  • Assist in project implementation.
  • Assist in conducting training and other activities in the field.
  • Assist in preparing the periodic and final reports of the project.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism or any related field.
  • 2 years’ work experience in communication role.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, content management system and social media platforms.
  • Nepali and English typing skills.
