Established in 2008, FIAN Nepal works to promote and advocate for the realization of the Human Right to Adequate Food in Nepal, with a particular focus on vulnerable and marginalized communities.

'FIAN Nepal' is a human rights organization established with the aim of advocating for the promotion and protection of the right to food in Nepal, in particular among the vulnerable communities in Nepal. FIAN Nepal registered as an NGO and recognized as the Section of FIAN International, Germany since 2009. FIAN Nepal's interventions are based on the 'Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948', 'International Covenant on Economic, Social & Cultural Rights, 1966', Constitution of Nepal, 'Right to Food & Food Sovereignty Act, 2018' and other policy provisions related to right to food. Key interventions of the organization are to raise awareness about the right to food, identify & document right to food violation issues & make it public, enhance the capacity of vulnerable communities and policy aiming to ensure the right to food of vulnerable communities.

FIAN Nepal invites qualified and experienced individuals and consulting firms to submit technical and financial proposals along with required legal documents to undertake the following assignments. 

The detailed scope of work is to conduct 'Social Audit' of the project 'Promoting Right to Food and Food Sovereignty through Community led Agro-ecology Practices' and expected deliverables, required qualifications, and timeline are outlined in the Terms of Reference (ToR).

Areas of Assignment/TOR for “Social Audit”: The project “Promoting Right to Food & Food Sovereignty through Agro-ecology Practices in Nepal” is being implemented in 47 wards across five working Palikas. FIAN Nepal intends to conduct a social audit of the project in four working Palikas and one province on a sampling basis.

The social audit will assess the implementation, resource utilization, participation, transparency, accountability, inclusiveness, and outcomes of the project, with particular attention to the adoption of sustainable and community-led agro-ecological practices and their contribution to the realization of the right to food and food sovereignty.

The audit will provide an opportunity for farmers, rights holders, communities, local government, project staff, and other stakeholders to share their experiences, assess project performance, and provide feedback and recommendations. The findings will be used to identify achievements, gaps, challenges, good practices, and areas for improvement, and to inform future programming and advocacy for the promotion of agro-ecology at the local level.

The social audit will ultimately contribute to strengthening community ownership, institutional accountability, transparency, and evidence-based decision-making, thereby supporting the realization of the right to food and food sovereignty as fundamental rights guaranteed under Article 36 of the Constitution of Nepal and the Right to Food and Food Sovereignty Act, 2075.

Any incomplete applications will not be considered for evaluation. Telephone inquiries or attempts to influence the process through any external means will not be entertained and may result in the rejection of the application.
