Call for Expression of Interest (EOI)
Consultancy service for Development of Branding Strategy for NACCFL’s “Kisan Ko Poko” Initiative and Processed Oil Products of Mainapokhar Bhabisya SFACL, Bardiya
1. Background
The Nepal Agriculture Cooperative Federation of Nepal Limited (NACCFL) is the apex organization representing agricultural cooperatives and Small Farmer Agricultural Cooperatives Limited (SFACLs) across Nepal. NACCFL works to strengthen cooperative-led agricultural development, improve market access for smallholder farmers, promote value addition, and establish sustainable market linkages between farmers, cooperatives, and consumers.
Under the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP)-funded project, “Improved Food and Nutrition Security through Diversified Income Generation and Empowerment,” NACCFL is supporting selected SFACLs in Bardiya District to improve their institutional, production, marketing, value addition and business capacities.
One of NACCFL’s market-oriented initiatives is “Kisan Ko Poko”, which is intended to strengthen the linkage between cooperatives, farmers and consumers. The initiative provides an opportunity to establish a recognizable identity for cooperative-produced products and facilitate their access to wider markets, including urban consumers.
Similarly, Mainapokhar Bhabisya Small Farmer Agricultural Cooperative Limited (SFACL), Bardiya, has been engaged in the production of processed mustard oil. With increasing attention to quality, origin, consumer trust, packaging and market positioning, there is a need to establish a coherent branding strategy for the cooperative's processed oil products.
