Organization: National Indigenous Disabled Women Association – Nepal (NIDWAN)

NIDWAN is a national non-profit organization led by Indigenous women with disabilities, working to promote dignity, equality, and social justice for Indigenous women and girls with disabilities across Nepal. NIDWAN has been working collaboratively with Government, UN agencies like WFP, UNDP, UN Women, civil society, and development partners to ensure that no one is left behind. NIDWAN works in cross movement collaboration approach with feminist, disability, indigenous and youth movements.  From its decade-long experiences, NIDWAN is equipped submitting UN reports, conduct research on various themes, generate knowledge production, inform with data and information in social media for evidence-based advocacy. c

Position: Documentation and Communication Officer

Required Number: 1

Reports To: Chair NIDWAN (Administrative) 

Location: Kusunti. Lalitpur. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communication, Media Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant experience in documentation, preparing report, conduct social science-based research, content writing, annual report, publication of the organization document.
  • Proven experience in preparing annual reports, project reports, research reports, advocacy documents, publications, and communication materials.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills in both English and Nepali.
  • Good understanding of gender equality, disability inclusion, Indigenous Peoples’ rights, human rights, and intersectionality.
  • Experience in developing website content, social media content, newsletters, fliers, brochures, presentations, and other digital materials in accessible formats.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and coordinate effectively with partners and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, edit, and support the publication of organizational, project, research, and advocacy reports and documents.
  • Document NIDWAN’s programs, events, campaigns, meetings, trainings, and advocacy activities through reports, stories, photographs, and other materials.
  • Develop and manage website, social media, newsletter, and other communication content to strengthen NIDWAN’s visibility.
  • Develop advocacy materials, policy briefs, statements, case stories, campaign materials, and other communication resources.
  • Coordinate with program teams, partners, networks, government agencies, UN agencies, and other stakeholders for documentation and communication.
  • Maintain an organized digital and physical archive of reports, publications, photographs, media content, and other organizational documents.
