Project Activity

Support to implement’ reinforcing Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM) program’ in Nepal 

Duration: Up to maximum of 60 working days (from December- March 2024)

Project Overview

Action Against Hunger | Action Contre la Faim (ACF) is an international humanitarian organization committed to ending child hunger. Activity Overview

This project is developed to identify and address the key gaps at provincial level in IMAM implementation in Nepal and pave a way towards quality IMAM programing in Nepal. The activities will be conducted in close coordination with Nutrition section, Family Welfare Division (DoHS/ MoHP).  

OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the project is to restress the importance of quality IMAM program among different stakeholders engaged at different levels. The specific objectives are to:

• To identify the gap in implementation of IMAM services at provincial levels reflecting the situation at representative local level in Nepal 
• To support Government of Nepal for updating the existing National IMAM Guideline based on the gap analysis and in the context of new WHO guidelines released in June 2023 paving the way forward

SCOPE OF WORK

As part of this project, The Consulting firm/ Individual shall undertake the following tasks:

• Gathering evidence of qualitative and quantitative data related to IMAM program. Seven Infographics (one for each province)
• IMAM round table discussion/ webinar (at least 2) with relevant stakeholders at federal level.  
• Development of innovative sensitization and advocacy materials for IMAM program. (at least two materials) 
• Provide technical insights during preparation (max 4 meeting) of gap analysis workshops related to IMAM program.

DELIVERABLES

The Consultant shall deliver the following:

• Seven infographic (One representing each province) 
• At least two round table discussion/ webinar with summary report. 
• At least two sensitization and advocacy materials 
• Active participation on preparation of gap analysis workshops 
• Summary report upon completion of all the activities as a final report

QUALIFICATIONS

The Consulting firm/Individual shall have the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of experience in implementing Nutrition specific program in Nepal
• Demonstrated innovative ideas in the sector of Nutrition and health 
• Demonstrated experience on advocacy and high level discussion in the sector of Health and nutrition. 
• At least two years of experience with Government of Nepal in the sector of Health and Nutrition (Preferred) 
• Experience in working in rural context (Preferred)
• Fluency in English.

APPLICATION PROCESS

The application should include a technical proposal, a budget proposal, CV, and a previous work sample. The budget should present consultancy fees according to the number of expected working days over the entire period, both in total and as a daily fee. Travel costs should be included as needed.

Applications will be evaluated based on whether the submitted proposal captures an understanding of the main deliverables as per this ToR, a methodology relevant to achieving the results foreseen, and the overall capacity of the consultant to carry out the work (i.e. inclusion of proposed evaluators’ CVs, reference to previous work, etc.). 

Interested consulting firms/teams (registered according to prevailing laws and regulations of Government of Nepal) or individual can apply at procurement@np-actionagainsthunger.org with subject as “Application for Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM)” by 17 December 2023, 17:00 hours Nepal Standard Time. However, service contract/ consultancy will be awarded on a rolling basis, so applicants are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.

We would appreciate the necessary documents being submitted as separate attachments (proposal, budget, CV, and at least 1 work sample).
