Introduction:
BGN Veteran Services Mission. BGN Veteran Services’ mission is to deliver post-retirement administrative services (administer pension payment; and update, maintain & safeguards of records) and provide welfare support on UK settlement related matters to Gurkha veterans and their eligible dependants in order to fulfil BGN tasks.
The Job holder is responsible for assisting Head of Veteran Services (HVS) in delivering administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient operation of BGN Veteran Services (VS). The role demands a proactive, organised individual with highly developed IT skills who can handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description/Responsibilities:
Record, file, action and/or forward as appropriate all incoming internal and external paperwork, emails and telephone calls in a prompt and professional manner.
Develop and maintain VS Teams’ Data Entry Forms/Dashboards on Excel and build Word and MS Forms.
Maintenance of VS Website, SharePoint Sites and collation of VS Teams’ statistics and produce VS Management Information Report.
Provide proactive assistance to HVS in the management and in the forward-planning of BGN VS and advise HVS of impending deadlines.
Deal with sensitive and confidential information, using judgment and initiative in prioritisation of responses and issues, referring onwards where necessary.
Manage VS team Calendars, Appointments and assist in organising departmental events and meetings and act as minute secretary.
When necessary, support Settlement Office to deliver 1:1 consultation and filling up of Visa Applications and provide factual information on welfare services available in the UK.
Respond to queries from customers, VS teams, stakeholder partners i.e., Visa Facilitation Services (VFS), Area Welfare Centres (AWCs), Gurkhas Welfare Advice Centres (GWACs), Defence Business Service (DBS), Equiniti (EQ) etc. and external agencies on behalf of HVS.
Prepare reports & returns and presentations when required.
Maintain and update confidential files and records.
Taking reasonable care for own health and safety at work, and for any others in the workplace.
Any other tasks as detailed by HVS.

Work Experience:
Minimum 3 years of work experience in relevant field as described in job description.
Very good knowledge of Nepali identity documentation and Knowledge of Gurkha Settlement is preferable for this role to deliver the job responsibility effectively and efficiently.
Qualification:
Academic – Higher Secondary (+2 or A level)
Technical – Highly skilled in MS Office applications, especially in Word, PowerPoint and Excel (Macro and VBA knowledge desired)
English – Good Written and Spoken
Nepali – Good Written and Spoken
You will be assessed on your English language skills, MS Office expertise and other job-related knowledge through a practical assessment to qualify for interviews during the sifting and selection process.

Salary 95,534.00 NPR per month (Permanent).
Gratuity after completing 3 years’ service.
Dashain Bonus & Retirement Funds (EPF) & (CIT Optional).
Annual leave 25 days and public holidays 10 days.
100% reimbursement of medical expenses for Job Holder and limited reimbursement for immediate dependents.
Child allowance up to 18 years.
