ENPHO runs a government accredited laboratory and promotes eco-friendly technologies with the aim of establishing eco-societies. ENPHO develops and promotes integrated community based approaches for safe water, sustainable sanitation, solid waste management, hygiene behavior and improving indoor air quality monitoring to create healthy societies. Environment and Public Health Organization (ENPHO), established in 1990, is a service-oriented, scientific, national non-governmental organization constantly striving toward environmental sustainability and public that has worked in more than 55 districts of Nepal. ENPHO has been working in Nepal for more than 30 years. ENPHO’s mission is to develop, demonstrate and disseminate innovative technologies and systems to enable societies to become healthy and environment friendly. ENPHO envisages creating eco-societies by providing quality services on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), environment, and public health through research, innovations, promotion of the WASH technologies and approaches, and air pollution through the promotion of integrated community-based approaches, eco-friendly techniques, and technologies.

Assistant Project Officer

Duty Station: Kathmandu Central Office
A. Required qualifications and experiences:
- Bachelor’s Degree in, Public Health, Environmental Science, Social Science, or any other relevant field with minimum 6 months of work experience.
- Working experience in conducting overall survey/research, project implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders at municipal level and deal with the enumerators.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and representation skills.
B. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Expertise:
- Knowledge of thematic areas, i.e., Faecal Sludge Management.
- Excellent Knowledge of MS office, Excel, PowerPoint Package, GIS, SPSS.
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and with cultural sensitivity in writing and verbally with local government, partners, civil society, and diverse groups of people.
Duties and Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the position will be listed below.
- Assist in implementing project activities timely and efficiently in coordination with project team.
- Conduct orientation to field enumerator for SFD survey at various municipalities.
- Manage data collected (entry, cleaning etc.) from field and handover for analysis.
- Conduct FGDs, KIIs required for necessary information and analysis.
- Conduct field visits as per the requirements of the projects.
- Mobilize and supervise community groups, social mobilizers, enumerators for effective implementation of project activities and provide necessary support as per requirement.
- Prepare SFD reports and other reports in coordination with supervisor.
- Support to manage logistic to organize trainings/orientation/events effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct WASH promotional activities including community orientation, community mobilization, monitoring and follow up at local level.
- Assist immediate supervisor in documentation and reporting.
- Work closely with the team in developing and updating support materials such as IEC materials, reference materials and fact sheets.
- Support to prepare budget plan for execution of the project activities in coordination with supervisor.
- Identify and document case studies

- Performing any other duties, as necessary and instructed by the line manager.
Duration:
The duration of the position will for one year with possible extension.
