We closely assess the causes and consequences of the inequality in power relations between men, women and other oppressed genders and advocate for the transformation of all social relations that oppress, exploit or marginalize any groups of people.

Project Background: 

Sankalpa Nepal in support of Habitat for  Humanity Nepal is implementing Safe Shelter Project. Housing and land right is main activities in safe shelter project. Continuing house construction. Sankalpa Nepal is seeking competent, skilled, service-oriented, and devoted Nepali citizens who share our vision, missions, and values.

Job Description

1. Position: Admin and Finance Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular visit and Collect Invoices and necessary documents from the User committee to settle the advance. 
  • Track the per house cost of every house built under the All the project.
  • Verify the stock maintain by the user committee and monitor regularly.
  • Participate in every procurement process of the user committee and strengthen the user committee.
  • Processing payments & receipts along with timely payment of utilities and other regular dues,
  • Issue check, maintain project base expense record to be shared by all staff
  • Vouchers written and approved (signed daily)
  • Prepare reconciliation of bank and other transactions, 
  • Post transactions into accounting software FAMAS,
  • Deduction, deposit and reconcile retirement funds and applicable income tax.
  • To be responsible for all financial transactions and management as well as update the books of accounts under FO.
  • Ensure proper management, utilization and control of project finance activities and financial resources in accordance to the Sankalpa/Habitat Nepal Agreement and also within the project budget provided under FO.
  • Incur expenditure at the proper time within the budget limit and to maintain records duly approved by the Team Leader and the Finance Officer.
  • Maintain records of members of staff and ensure that they are provided all benefits in time.
  • Support Preparing Monthly Financial Report according to the Habitat Nepal Format and ensure its submission to the concerned office within 5 days from the end of the month.
  • Operate financial transactions according to the Financial, Administrative and Staff Rules and Regulations of Sankalpa Nepal and Finance Guidelines of Habitat Nepal sub grant.
  • Support FO to Prepare Fund Transfer Request (FTR) and submit to the Habitat Nepal. Prepare quarterly projection & work plan.
  • Support FO to Manage staff discipline, security and safety policies and ensure its appropriate implementation.
  • Regular instruct, monitor, counsel and provide supportive feedback to subordinate staff.
  • Periodic review of financial and administrative manual/procedure, policy, and update as per need. Support Maintaining cordial relation with local GOs, NGOs and INGOs, inform them about the objectives, programs, and achievements of Sankalpa Nepal, and perform activities in coordination with them.
  • Overall financial Management of the project and Fund transfer request and Budget forecasting under the direct supervision of finance officer.
  • Regular payment of Mason, vendors and staffs and Regular financial reporting (Periodic) Responsible for financial monitoring with Habitat Nepal, reporting, donors and auditing.

Professional skills and qualifications needed in the position:

  • The candidate must have Bachelor' degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from a recognized University. 
  • At least 3 years work experience in field of Finance.  
  • Good Knowledge and understanding on financial compliance.  
  • Good communication skills in both English and Nepali language.  
  • Be respectful and respond calmly in all situations.
  • Ability and willingness to work in team, cross cultural and to work under pressure and in remote/difficult circumstances. 
  • Two-wheeler vehicle driving skill and having driving license preferred.
