Vacancy Announcement

Campaign: Anti-Currency Notes for Anti-Corruption
Date of Vacancy: 26 December 2025 reply by 10th January 2026

Position Titles

1.     Program Officer – 1 Position

2.     Program Associate – 1 Position

Organization Overview

We are a startup advocacy initiative committed to combating corruption and crime enabled by the circulation of physical currency notes. The campaign seeks to raise public awareness on how cash facilitates bribery, money laundering, hundi transactions, drug trafficking, tax evasion, dowry-related crime, and illicit cross-border trade.

Our long-term objective is to advocate for the gradual reduction and eventual abolition of currency notes, while promoting transparent, accountable alternatives such as digital payment systems and regulated financial technologies. The campaign also critically addresses public misconceptions related to digital payments and cryptocurrency.

The current focus of the campaign is to advocate for mandatory Point-of-Sale (POS) systems in retail outlets, urging the Government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) to reduce dependency on cash. With full POS adoption, the campaign proposes that black currency circulation can be significantly curtailed within a 90-day transition period.

The campaign operates primarily in Nepal (approximately 75%), with research and advocacy linkages in India, the United States, and other countries.
