For over 30 years, we have provided young people in India and Costa Rica with the technical skills they need as professionals, partnering with companies and operating our own technical training centers. Our current programs cover a range of fields, including Auto Mechanics, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Accounting Assistance, Administrative Assistance and Fashion Design & Management.
We recently established our branch office in Kathmandu and are now seeking skilled Country Director for our operations help us make a difference.
General Job Description
The Country Director shall perform all duties required for the execution of projects that the Samuel Foundation has in Nepal, either on its own or in cooperation with local organisations. The person in this role will be responsible for accompanying the technical training process of young people, the creation and maintenance of a network of external companies, as well as the placement of graduates in the labour market, among other tasks. The role involves maintaining close coordination with the Office in India, Germany and local stakeholders in Nepal.
Essential Job Activities
Administrative Management:
· Ensure the proper implementation of the Foundation's policies and procedures.
· Manage and maintain accurate records of all documentation and correspondence with internal and external parties.
· Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations in all activities
Project
Management:
· Develop and implement strategies for executing social projects in Nepal.
· Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of ongoing projects.
· Prepare detailed reports on project progress for the offices in India and Germany.
· Identify and mitigate risks associated with project implementation.
· Planning and executing own projects and supervising projects of local partners
Communication and Coordination:
· Maintain regular communication with the offices in India and Germany, providing updates and detailed reports.
· Facilitate communication and coordination between the different parties involved in the execution of projects.
· Organise and coordinate all necessary meetings and activities within and outside the Foundation.
· Regular communication with government agencies
Financial Management:
•
Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring the efficient use of
resources.
• Review and approve financial and
budget reports.
• Ensure the proper administration of
funds and accountability.
External Relations:
• Build and maintain relationships with local
stakeholders, government agencies and NGOs.
• Represent the Samuel Foundation at
local events and meetings.
• Identify new project opportunities
and develop funding proposals.
Recruitment Profile
Qualifications:
• University degree in Social Sciences, International Development, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and administration.
• Extensive knowledge of social project implementation and evaluation.
• Fluency in English and Nepali.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
• Experience working in Nepal.
• Experience
in / with international NGOs.
• Ideally, a network of contacts of
companies and the social sector in Nepal.
• Work experience in vocational training sector
Required:
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Windows programs.
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and analyze.
• Ability to work under pressure and to make quick decisions.
• Reliable, attentive, detail-oriented.
• Excellent personal presentation.
