Advocacy Advisor

Pact , a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC, is an international NGO that has worked throughout South and Southeast Asia for over 40 years. In Nepal, we improve the ability of communities to better direct their own development through technical assistance, material and financial support, as well as capacity building for local government bodies and CSOs. Pact plans to bid on an opportunity to strengthen Nepal’s civil society and is looking for highly competent staff for the following positions to be based in Kathmandu. This position is contingent on award of funding.

Position: Advocacy Advisor –Nepali citizens only

Responsibility: The Advocacy Advisor is responsible for the overall management and technical oversight of interventions aimed at supporting strategic communications and policy advocacy by civil society organizations (CSOs). S/he will work with CSOs to develop, design, and distribute public awareness messages, lead the development of advocacy tools and methods, and train CSOs in advocacy methods and best practices. S/he will lead the development and strategic operations of knowledge and information management, and ensure effective messaging surrounding project activities to partners, donors, and the general public through media and other platforms. S/he will take a leadership role in ensuring that advocacy efforts influence decision makers at both local and national levels yielding positive service delivery results.
