Her Time is NOW – Calling for Youth Facilitators

Hamro Palo invites passionate young individuals to join our one-month paid mentorship program in Nuwakot district. This is a unique opportunity for youth to gain hands-on experience in community engagement, girl-led leadership, and school-based facilitation.

About Us

Hamro Palo is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering adolescents, primarily girls, and preparing them to make healthy life choices and decisions. Since our inception, we have worked across multiple districts in Nepal, delivering programs that promote gender equality, leadership, safety, and well-being for adolescents reaching over 12,000 program graduates. 

Building on our previous programs such as Her Turn Education and Empowerment, Mentorship Programs, Girls in Sports, Annual Girl-led Leadership Conference, SRHR workshops and Girls Travel, we continue to create opportunities for girls to grow, lead, and thrive.

Her Time is NOW program is designed to:

  • Advocate for investment in girls’ education and leadership
  • Build girls’ self-efficacy and leadership skills
  • Engage communities and families in supporting girls’ rights
  • Support community schools and their students
  • Advance Gender Equality with a focus on Equity
  • Recognize girls as significant social capital

Program Overview

  • Position: Youth Facilitator
  • Number of Positions: 10
  • Duration: One month
  • Location: Community schools across Nuwakot district
  • Compensation: One-month salary, along with transportation, accommodation, and meals provided.
  • Training: 3-day facilitation training for selected facilitators

This program is ideal for youth who are currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, have recently completed it, or are taking a gap year after 10+2 and want practical experience in facilitation, community engagement, and adolescent girls’ empowerment and leadership.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Youth Facilitator, you will:

  • Work closely with Hamro Palo and assigned community schools
  • Deliver programs in pairs in schools following Hamro Palo’s curriculum
  • Support girls in building confidence, leadership, and life skills
  • Create safe and participatory learning spaces in schools
  • Engage with teachers, school staff, and families to strengthen community support
  • Document activities and progress through journals, reports, photos, and creative writing
  • Attend training and reflection sessions to improve facilitation skills
  • Uphold Hamro Palo’s values and code of conduct at all times

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree, or utilizing a gap year after 10+2
  • Passion for working with adolescents and communities
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Basic understanding of reporting and research methodologies
  • Willingness to travel to Nuwakot district and stay in community accommodations
  • Open to learning, reflection, and feedback
