ROYM–Nepal is seeking qualified and motivated Enumerators to support upcoming field-based data collection activities. This position is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills and an interest in community-based research and development work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct primary and secondary surveys using structured questionnaires
  • Collect accurate and reliable data through interviews and observations
  • Use mobile data collection tools or paper-based forms as assigned
  • Coordinate with supervisors and follow project guidelines
  • Ensure ethical standards, confidentiality, and data quality during fieldwork

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum Intermediate (+2) level education (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Prior experience in data collection or surveys is an advantage
  • Ability to communicate clearly in Nepali (local language skills preferred)
  • Willingness to travel and work in field conditions
  • Basic knowledge of mobile apps or data collection tools is a plus

Rural Oriented Youth Movement-Nepal (ROYM-Nepal) is a non-profit making non-governmental national level organization established in 2009 which envisions a socio-economically empowered society with equality and social justice through its community based collective campaign to create an environment where marginalized groups can raise their voices for economic, cultural and social rights challenging the structural discrimination. It aims at reducing poverty through skill transformation and youth engagement. ROYM-Nepal supports the country in achieving the long-term Sustainable Development Goals on human rights, health, education, gender equality, water, sanitation, environment, social protection, justice and impact of climate change. In more than a decade of its working experience, ROYM-Nepal has been successfully carrying out different community-based interventions and socio-economic programs under WASH, skill promotion, self and gainful-employment, women health, and socio-economic empowerment in 19 districts of Nepal. 

Position Overview

The Intern (Central Office) will support program planning, coordination, documentation, reporting, and proposal development from the central office and in managing internal and external communication activities, including content creation, social media engagement, documentation, and promotional materials. 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing work plans, activity schedules, and internal coordination documents
  • Coordinate with field teams, interns, and partners to collect program updates and information
  • Support follow-up communication related to program implementation and reporting
  • Support documentation of meetings, trainings, and organizational events
  • Maintain organized digital records of program documents, reports, and data
  • Conduct background research, desk reviews, and data collection for proposal development
  • Assist in tracking program progress and timelines at the central level
  • Support basic monitoring, data compilation, and analysis for reporting purposes
  • Coordinate with admin and finance teams to collect information required for proposals and reports
  • Assist in creating content for ROYM-Nepal’s social media platforms, website, newsletters, and other communication channels
  • Support the documentation of programs, events, workshops, and campaigns (photos, short reports, captions, success stories)
  • Help draft communication materials such as press releases, event announcements, blog posts, and awareness messages
  • Manage and organize photos, videos, and communication files in coordination with the team
  • Support social media planning, posting, and basic engagement monitoring
  • Assist in designing simple communication materials (posters, flyers, social media graphics) using basic design tools
  • Coordinate with program teams to collect information and stories from the field
  • Support internal communication by helping prepare meeting notes, updates, and presentations
  • Perform any other communication-related tasks assigned by the supervisor that align with learning objectives

General Responsibilities

  • Follow ROYM-Nepal’s policies, safeguarding standards, and code of conduct
  • Maintain confidentiality of organizational and donor-related information
  • Perform other central office program-related tasks assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed studies (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Environment Science, Agriculture Science, Management, Journalism or a related field.
  • Strong written communication skills in English (knowledge of Nepali is an advantage)
  • Interest and basic understanding of proposal writing and development programs
  • Ability to conduct desk research and synthesize information
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Google Workspace
  • Good coordination, time management, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn and work in a central office environment

Working Conditions

  • The position is based at ROYM-Nepal’s Central Office
  • Occasional coordination with field teams may be required
  • The intern is expected to follow regular office hours as agreed

Purpose of the Position

The Admin and Finance Intern will support administrative, financial, and operational activities of ROYM-Nepal. This role is designed as a learning opportunity, allowing the intern to gain hands-on experience in office management, financial processes, and organizational operations while contributing to the effective functioning of the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Admin and Finance Intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems for administrative and program documents
  • Support preparation of meeting agendas, attendance sheets, minutes, and follow-up notes
  • Assist in drafting official letters, emails, and internal notices
  • Maintain records of staff, interns, volunteers, and attendance when required
  • Support procurement processes by collecting quotations, preparing comparison sheets, and maintaining procurement files
  • Help manage office supplies, inventory lists, and asset records
  • Support coordination with vendors, service providers, and partners for administrative matters

Finance Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and organizing payment vouchers, bills, invoices, and receipts
  • Record daily financial transactions in cash books or accounting formats under supervision
  • Support reimbursement processing for staff and program activities
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents for donor compliance and audits
  • Assist in basic budget tracking by comparing planned budgets with actual expenditures
  • Support bank-related tasks such as preparing deposit slips and organizing bank statements
  • Help prepare simple financial summaries and expense sheets for internal review

Operations Responsibilities:

  • Support logistical arrangements for trainings, workshops, meetings, and events (venue coordination, materials, participant lists)
  • Coordinate with program teams to collect required administrative and financial documents after activities
  • Assist in preparing activity-wise expense documentation and reports
  • Support compliance with organizational policies, financial guidelines, and donor requirements
  • Help track timelines and operational checklists for ongoing programs
  • Provide general operational support to ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the organization

General Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and organizational information
  • Follow ROYM-Nepal’s policies, procedures, and code of conduct
  • Perform any other admin, finance, or operations-related tasks assigned by the supervisor
